WELCOME TO THE OKLAHOMA STATE FAIR!OKLAHOMA CITY, OK

Dear Exhibitors;

After a tough 2020, the NAPHA Board of Directors and 2021 US National Show Committee are excited to invite you to join us in Oklahoma City, Ok for our 16th NAPHA US National Show! This year we have the unique and exciting opportunity to not only compete against the very best Peruvian Horses in all of North America, but also show-case our incredible breed to thousands of people at the Oklahoma State Fair.  Promotion and visibility have been a vital focus of our organization and we will have the chance to do just that at this year’s National Show! As with most opportunities, we will take on extra hurdles with changes to our day-to-day routine. We believe however, what we get in return for these changes will be immensely beneficial to the exposure and growth of our breed.

In this premium list you will find information regarding details on tickets and parking, both needed daily to enter the fair, for which our show is part of. Please read them carefully and if you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact the show committee with questions.

We also once again have the honor of broadcasting our show LIVE to the entire world through our webcast efforts.  During the show we encourage everyone to share the link via Facebook so your friends and families can watch you compete. Please make plans to join us and attend this year’s US National Show, Septem-ber 24 – 26, 2021 at the Oklahoma State Fair in Oklahoma City!

Good luck to all exhibitors and we hope you enjoy the show.

Your NAPHA Board of directors,

Mark Renn, Gail Benson, Edith Gandy, Heidi Opdyke,Alice Wolf, Jose Vasquez, Joe Larsen-Ritter

Sportsmanship RulesOne of the primary objectives of the North American Peruvian Horse Association is to encourage high moral character and good sportsmanship among its members while at the same time inspiring exemplary conduct in all phases of competition and instilling a sense of fairness and responsibility for the rigors of showmanship as well as the greater issues of life.

Negative conduct, including harassment, bullying, or any other form of unsports-manlike conduct will not be permitted by the NAPHA, and any person engaging in such action or conduct will be disciplined to the full extent permitted by the NAPHA rules. Unsportsmanlike or irresponsible conduct or any other form of misconduct that is illegal, indecent, profane, intimidating, threatening, harassing or abusive is prohibited. The NAPHA will not tolerate such behavior and violators will be excused from competition and/or removed from the show grounds and are subject to further disciplinary action.

Good Sportsmanship RulesGood sportsmanship is about playing by the rules, discipline, respect and self-con-trol. Good sportsmanship is not just what you do in the arena, but the way you conduct yourself both in and out of the arena.1. The “Golden Rule” – Do unto others as you would have others do unto you. Show respect for your opponents if you expect it yourself.2. Have an understanding and an appreciation of the rules. The spirit of good sportsmanship depends on conforming to the intent of the rules.3. Enjoy yourself and encourage enjoyment for others.4. Take responsibility for your actions.5. Recognize and appreciate good performances, especially by the opponent.6. Respect the integrity and judgment of the judges and show officials.7. Expect proper behavior from your teammates, trainers, family and friends.8. Accept both victory and defeat with pride and compassion

About the Judge:

Chris Austin

I have been involved with Peruvian Horses as an owner and breed-er since 1994. Since then my family and I have bred many quality horses as well as have had the honor of winning many champi-onships both regionally and nationally. I am very blessed that my entire family shares the love of the Peruvian Horse. As such, we spend countless hours enjoying our horses on the trail as well as the show ring. I have had the opportunity to judge many shows throughout the United States, Canada, Ecuador, Guatemala, and Panama including National Shows in the United States, Canada, and Ecuador. Additionally, I am the past President of the North American Peruvian Horse Association.

I look forward to the opportunity to judge the 2021 U.S. National Show and it is my goal to facilitate an authentic and fun show for all exhibitors.
