The amendment referred to above, submitted in connection with registration under FIFRA section 3(c) (7) (a), is acceptable provided that you:

1. Submit and/or cite all data or other material required for registration/reregistration of your product under FIFRA section 3(c)(5) or FIFRA section 4 when the Agency requires all registrants of similar products to submit such data.

2. Make the labeling changes listed below before you release the product for shipment bearing the amended labeling:

a. For both the standard and the Optional Ready spray Directions, under the heading DIRECTIONS FOR USE, slightly revise the reformulation prohibition to read "Reformulation or repackaging of this product is prohibited.".

b. For both the standard and the Optional Ready Spray Directions, under the heading GENERAL INFORMATION, revise Note 5 to read "Do not apply in greenhouses.".

c. For both the standard and the Optional Ready Spray Directions, for Lawns, under the subheading Surface Insects, revise "fruit flies" and "friut flies" to frit flies".

d. For both the standard and the Optional Ready Spray Directions, in the table for Trees and Shrubs, correct "Oak loppers" to "Oak loopers".

e. For the standard label, in the table for Roses and Flowers, correct "Chrysan-themums" to "Chrysanthemums".

f. For both the standard and the optional Ready spray Directions, revise the first sentence to read "To avoid harming aquatic organisms in rivers and other surface waters, do not pour the concentrate, spray mixture, or rinse water into sanitary drains ((for example, toilets, floor drains, and sinks) or into storm water sewers (for example street drains).".

3. Submit three (3) copies of your final printed labeling before you release the product for shipment.

4. Comply with all applicable provisions of the 2000 Memorandum of Agreement Regarding Pesticide Products Containing Diazinon (i.e., the Diazinon MOA). In accordance with the Diazinon MOA you have requested the following revisions to the conditions of registration for this diazinon product with outdoor non­agricultural (i.e., home and garden) uses:

a. You have requested under section 6(f) of FIFRA that this registration be voluntarily canceled on a date not later than December 31, 2004.

b. You may not manufacture, label, or release for shipment this product after June 30, 2003.

i c. You may not sell or distribute this product after August 31,

2003.

d. The registration for this product shall expire and be canceled on December 31, 2004.

e. You will send to; every person who directly purchases this product (i.e., to every seller) a notification of Product Recovery Program to be conducted by Syngenta and Makhteshim after December 31, 2004.

If these conditions are not complied with, the registration will be subject to cancellation in accordance with FIFRA section 6(e). Your release for shipment of the product constitutes acceptance of these conditions.

A stamped copy of the label is enclosed for your records.

The Basic Confidential statement of Formula (CSF) dated June 19, 2001 and the Alternate CSF dated June 19, 2001 which identify replacement diazinon source Manufacturing Use Products are acceptable and have been added to this product's registration file.

GENERAL INFORMATION 8pec1racide Lawn and Garden Insed Control I:; an emulsifiab'e concentrate product which must be diluted with water pefore application. Refer to-the section How to Mix and Apply. This product kills many outdoor insects which damage lawns, roses, flowers, trees, shrubs, vegetables, fruits and nuts, and insects which annoy people and pets. Contains diazinon insecticide which provides positive control of many -hard-to-kill- sucking and chewing insects. Spectracide works fast and applications should be repeated only as directed to maintain control.

Notes: (1) USE CONTENTS WITHIN 6 MONTHS AFTER OPENING. SEE STORAGE AND DISPOSAL DIRECTIONS.

(2) Do not use inside the home. (3) Do not use on ferns. poinsettia. hibiscus, papaya. pilea, gardenia or orchids

since injury may occur. (4) Use this product on succulent peas and beans only. Do nol use on dried pea

or bean varieties. (5) Do not apply to tood crops grown in greenhouses .

HOWTO MIX AND APPLY Step 1/1: Determine size of spraying job. For lawns, fruits, nuts and vegetables, measure the area to be sprayed. For trees, shrubs and flowers, appty as thorough cover spray. GENERAL INFORMATION

This product is an emulsifiable concentrate product which must be diluted with water before application. Refer to the section How to Apply. It kills many outdoor insects which damage lawns, roses, flowers. trees. shrubs, vegetables, fruits and nuts, and insects which annoy people and pets. Contains diazinon insecticide which provides positive control of many -hard-to·kill· Sucking and chewing insects. Spectracide works fast and applications should be repeated only as directed to maintain control.

Notes: (1) USE CONTENTS WITHIN 6 MONTHS AFTER FIRST USE. SEE STORAGE

AND DISPOSAL DIRECTIONS. (2) Do not use inside the home. (3) Do not use on ferns, poinsettia, hibiscus, papaya, pilea, gardenia or orchids

HOW TO APPLY

Determine the size of the spraying job. For lawns, fruits, nuts and vegatatMes, measure the area to be sprayed. For trees, shrubs and flowers, apply as a thorough cover spray. Begin treating when insects first appear. Applications should be repealed only as directed to maintain conlrol.Apply as directed in the rate chart. Remember, thorough coverage is Important. Be sure to follow the important use limitations tor the specific fruit or vegetable you are treating, induding the amount of

spray that can be applied, the interval between treatments and the days to wait before harvest.

USING THE READY SPRAY NOZZLE (Optional Subhead) 1. Shake bottle well before using. 2. Connect a garden hose to the ready spray nozzle. Make sure the black water control dial on the

nozzle is in the -OFP poSition (tab is vertical). 3. Turn on water faucet. Extend hose to the farthest area to be treated and work back towards

faucet so that you do not walk over treatee areas. Twist the small, star shaped tMack product control bunon to align the flat portion with the lock tab. Push the bunon in to open.

4. To BEGIN spraying, point nozzle towards the area to be treated and turn the btac:k water oontrol dial to the ·ON- position (tab is hOrizontal). Water will automatically mix with the product. Walk at a steady pace while spraying using an even sweeping motion. Refer to site gauge on bottle to determine amount of product being applied.

5. To STOP spraying turn the black water control dial to the ·OFF- position. Push the small, tMack

product control button back in to close. Twist the small, star shaped black product control buHorl so that it is no longer aligned with the flat portion of the lock tab. Turn ott the water at the faucet.

To relieve pressure, turn the black water control dial to the ·ON- poSition until water stops spraying betore removing the nOZZle from the hose.

6. To STORE unused product, place in a cool area away from heat, direct sunlight or open flame and out of reach of children or pets.

Environmental Hazards This product is highly toxic to birds, fish, and ("-ther wildlife. Birds, especially waterfowl, feeding or drinking on t~eated areas may be killed. Because of the migratory habits of certain Atlantic Coast waterfowl, do not apply this product to lawns in Nassau County, New York, between November 1 and May 20. Do not exceed maximum permitted label rates. Application rates above those recommended significantiy increase potential hazards to birds and waterlowl. Avoid overlapping of sprays. For lawns, where watering is recommended in the directions or if waterbwl (ducks or geese) can be expected in the treated area after treatment (except spot treatment), water lawn with at

least 1/4 inch of water immediately after spraying this product, however, stop watering before puddling occurs. Keep out of lakes, streams, ponds, tidal marshes and estuaries. Do not apply directly to water. Runoff may be hazardous to aquatic organisms in neighboring areas. Shrimp and crab may be killed at application rates recommended on this label. Do not apply where fish, shrimp, crab, and other aquatic life are important resources. Do not contaminate water by cleaning of equipment or disposal of equipment wash waters. This pesticide is highly toxic to bees exposed to direct treatment O[ to residues on blooming crops or weeds. Do not apply this pesticide or allow it to drift to beooming crops or weeds if bees are visiting the treatment area.
