1. Read and discuss our ePals’ email – EMAIL!!! (10ES-15minMS)

Notes to Teacher: Excitement!! Communication from the ePals class!!

•Show and read the email – this will help students to comprehend through their strengths (listening/reading).

•The class has 10minsES or 15minsMS to read the email and to think about creating a response.

•Please assign a note taker to record the students’ reaction, comments, questions, and answers to ePals’ questions.

•Encourage students to talk about the email and to think about questions to ask their ePals.

•Incorporate these notes into the next friendly email to the partner ePals class.

3. Review the assignment – Topics and Questions for the PPT (5minsES/MS)

Notes to Teacher: •Check students’ comfort with using power point and identify some students who may need some extra help.

•It may be helpful to pair students with PPT experience with those who are new to creating a PPT.

4. Students create their PPT slides about culture and cultural artifacts to share with your ePals (15minsES-15minsMS)

•Students work in groups (by topic), research and share information.

•Remind the students that they have 15 minutes to create their 1-2 PPT slides.

•Please have the email and open so that the students can answer all of their ePals’ questions.

•This PPT is a class generated PPT that requires input from your students.

•The end product will be compiled by the teacher from the students’ work and sent to the ePals partner class.
