Activity of National Energy & Environment Development Mission (NEED Mission)(An initiative of Vijnana Bharati)

Urja Wahini - the energy clubs all over Bharat, are envisaged as a 'knowledge platform' for generating awareness on energy-

related issues among school children, schools, teachers and parents. They will emphasize on incorporating modern technology

solutions thereby giving hands-on experience.

The activities of Urja Wahini will ensure that sharing of experience and knowledge takes place seamlessly and are expected to

motivate the participants to conserve precious resources as well as protect the environment.

Create energy awareness among students, teachers, and parents

Protect the environment and conserve natural resources through involvement of students, teachers, and parents

Instill the concept of 3R's (Reduce, Recycle and Reuse)

Create 'Urja Rakshaks', a youth force for protecting our energy resources and environment

Provide practical knowledge and hands-on experience through different experiments, activities and training

Primarily, Urja Wahini's are aimed at school students studying from Std. 7 to Std. 12

! Each Urja Wahini will be headed by a teacher nominated by the school

! Teacher will enroll max. 60 students (minimum 20 students required)

! Conducting activity session of 1 hr/week

!  A National Teacher's Training Camp (NTTC) will be conducted in first week of 

September 2011 where they will be given training, for conducting activities and

experiments, by resource persons working in this field

Bharati, working on Energy related activities across India.
