A Global CommunityA Global Community
• Globalization is a process by which the people of the world are unified into a single society and function together
• This can include economic, technological, cultural and political forces
Positive points of globalization
1. More competition leads to more educated people – since you are competing with the world you need to offer more
2. Poor countries like India & China are seeing their economies grow
Negative Aspects of Globalization
1. Wealthier nations/businesses take advantage of poorer people using them as cheap labor (sweatshops = more profits)
2. People in wealthy nations are losing jobs living since jobs move to cheaper areas
