Joiner  Photographer                    Michael  HarlleL    September  2003

This  photograph  has  ben  taken  by  a  very  famous  photographer  called  Michael  HarlleL.  This  photo  is  made  up  of  a  lot  off  single  photographs  of  famous  monuments  e.g.  the  London  eye.  I  plan  to  do  something  similar  to  HarlleL  work  of  some  famous  monuments  in  London.

Trip  Evalua2on    •  On  the  trip  to  London  we  took  different  photography's  e.g.  reflec2ons  on  buildings,

buildings,  graffi2  which  draws  aLen2on  and  not  boring  and  simple,  as  I  men2oned  on  the  previous  slide,  I  plan  to  do  something  that  has  a  good  link  to  Michael  HarlleL  work  so  in  London,  I  made  this  2me  very  beneficial  and  to  took  photographs  from  all  sorts  of  posi2ons  and  intend  to  uses  Photoshop  to  edit  e.g.  crop,  black  and    white.  I  took  around  150  photographs  and  intend  to  choose  the  best  8  edited.  I  also  intend  to  choose  around  another  10  pictures  and  form  a  collage  of  buildings  that  may  have  reflec2ons,  and  different  sort  of  buildings  that  have  some  similari2es

Evalua2on    My  inten2on  when  taking  this  photograph  was  to  capture  a  reflec2on  of  the  church  on  the  opposite  building  across  the  street.  The  composi2on  of  the  photograph  is  ver2cal    and  taken  form  a  fairly  low  view  point,  the  photography  was  taken  in  Raw  mode  which  means  that  it  had  no  adjustments.    I  was  par2cularly  inspired  by  the  focus  and  2me  spent  on  this  photograph.  If  I  had  the  chance  to  to  reshoot  this  photograph,  I  would  try  and  shoot  from  a  straight  angle    which  gets  rid  of  the  nega2ve  space  at  the  boLom  and  you  can  see  the  whole  building  with  clear  sky's  under  exposed  which  is  most  suited  for  this  photograph.    There  are  visible  geometric    shapes.  I  used  Photoshop    to  digitally  enhance  e.g.  cropped  parts  and  sides  of  the  building    to  create  this  atmosphere  .    Overall  it  was  a  success  this  is  because  when  the  photograph  is  viewed  they  have  to  view  twice  because  you  don’t  actually  no2ce  the  reflec2on    there  are  black  diagonal    which  makes  the  photo  spilt  up  in  two  parts.

Evalua2on    •  As  you  can  see  this  is  a  photograph  of  a  building  taken  from  my  right    looking  upwards.  The

composi2on  of  the  photograph  is  horizontal  and  taken  in  raw  mode,  I  also  like  the  fact  that  it    is  in  black  and  white  to  digitally  enhancing  the  nega2ve  space  and  the  crop  tool,  I  was  preLy  impressed  by  how  beau2ful  the  sky  looks  by  edi2ng  the  photograph  twice,  one  mainly  ge^ng  that  sky  and  then  pas2ng  it  over  the  main  black  and  white  picture  .  The  angle  and  focus  off  the  photograph  was  good.  Also  in  the  photograph  it  looks  like  something  mysterious  is  going  to  happen  e.g.  maybe  a  thunder  storm.  The  perspec2ve  of  the  photograph  at  the  top  of  of  the  building  looks  smaller.  The  shot  is  underexposed  and  too  short  which  makes  photograph  appear  too  dark.

•  The  exposure  1/250  at  f8  Iso  400  18mm

•  Overall  I  think  it  was  a  success  because  off  the  2me  spent,  If  I  had  the  chance  to  reshoot  this  photograph  I  might  shoot  the  photograph  from  another  angle

Evalua2on    My  inten2on  when  taking  this  photograph  was  to  capture  this  image  on  the  opposite,  what  I  par2cular  like  about  this  photograph  is  that  there  is  a  black  diagonal  which  makes  the  photo  spilt  up  in  two  part  and  also  there  are  two  different  things  happening  in  1  picture.  The  compos2on  of  the  photograph  is  horizontal.  What  I  wasn't  impressed  about  this  photograph  is  if  you  look  closely  the  top  is  more  bigger  then  the  boLom  there  are  visible  geometric    shapes  on  the  first  half.  In  the  first  half  you  can  see  more  e.g.  the  bikes,  the  opposite  building  basically    this  photography  is  collage  .  The  colour  of  the  photograph  is  very  bright  and  very  colourful  with  the  ranges  of  colours.    Overall,  I  think  that  this  photograph  was  a  success  this  is  because  there  is  a  lot  this  one  photography

Evalua2on    •  My  Inten2on  of  capturing  this  photograph  was  to  create  a  ar2s2c  impression  of

glass,  stone,  steal  to  create  a  photographic  image  which  became  an  abstract  piece  of  art.  The  composi2on  of  the  photograph  is  like  a  paLern,  In  my  opinion  the  photograph  was  unbalanced  but  now  using  Photoshop  has  made  it  balanced.

•  In  the  next  set  of  photos,  I  plan  to  take  more  reflec4on  photographs  of  buildings  within  the  college.

•  In  this  photograph,  I  have  captured  a  reflec2on  of  the  London  Theater,  what  I  par2cular  like  about  this  photograph  Is  that  I  was  able  to  get  the  whole  building.  The  compos2on  of  the  photograph  is  horizontal.    The  photograph  was  taken  from  fairly  high  low  view  point.

•  How  I  could  improve  the  photograph  is  maybe  go  during  another  2me  of  the  the  day

Evalua2on    In  this  photograph,  I've  taken  a  reflec2on  of  the  building  in  the  glass  during  the  sunny  day.  What  I  was  par2cular  inspired  was  that  I  was  able  to  capture  the  whole  building  properly  in  focus  take  from  a  fairly  low  view  point  and  taken  in  raw  mode.  You  can  see  the  whole  building  with  clear  sky's  under  exposed  which  is  most  suited  for  this  photograph.    There  are  visible  geometric    shape.    Overall,  I  think  that  the  photograph  was  a  success.

Secondary,  I  researched  a  famous  photographer  capturing  images  of  reflec2ons  similar  to  the  set  of  photographs  I've  taken.
