Garbage this from comes nowhere Is it fair to blame the civic body all the time for the garbage accumulation on roads and footpaths? Are not citizens, too, supposed to keep environs clean? Mirror teams visited about 20 places in Ahmedabad early on Wednesday to check how people had left their surroundings when they left their offices, shops and showrooms for home the previous night. At most of the places, the refuse from their workplace had been dumped on road or on footpath. The teams visited the same place in the afternoon again to see if the garbage had been cleared. At many places the situation had not changed. Incidentally, people living, working or having their shops in the area denied dumping the refuse. At most of the places, the merchants and the residents claimed that it was someone else who had dumped the garbage as they threw theirs in dustbins. The municipal corporation or some other person was to be blamed for the mess, they insisted. Ahmedabad Mirror, February 20, 2014
