The City of West Lafayette’s Department of Development seeks an intern to assist with urban forestry issues. This person could work 10-15 hours per week from April through mid-November at a rate of $10/hour. Tasks include the following: Entering data in the urban forest database Gathering and updating data for the database Pruning with the Tree Friends for clearance Helping to organize tree plantings Creating educational pieces on mulching, staking, and watering Working the farmers market with tree fund members regarding EAB education Inspecting landscapes for compliance

Skills Tree and plant identification Hazard tree identification Basic tree inventory knowledge Microsoft Office with knowledge of Access and Excel Good communication skills Valid drivers license The schedule could be flexible and work around the student’s schedule.
