Notes from Mrs. Watson I am always excited when I see God at work in my life. When I got up Saturday morning, I read the

following excerpt in my Advent devotional:

“Without cost you have received; without cost you are to give.” Matthew 10:8

...Advent is a time we remember God’s gift to us in Jesus. Maybe it will free our gifts to become con-tributions to the well-being of the human community, not power plays over and against each other. Of all the

prayers of Advent, one of the best is to pray that your gifts enhance life and not diminish it. (Advent Meditations by John Shea)

I thought, “ Thanks, God! What a great reminder….. especially on the day of our Gala!”

You see, God does speak to us in so many ways. One way I continually see it is in the kindness and gen-

erosity of our Holy Spirit families. When I tour prospective families through the school, I am so proud to be

able to share just how wonderful it is to belong to this community.

We are family with God at our core. Our love of God and our fellow man is most evident in all we do.

Just look at all that is shared to make this such a special place. It is seen in the commitment of our commu-

nity to our Parish and School, through the commitment of the school children to those beyond our walls, and

through the commitment of our teachers who lovingly help our children grow closer to God and their faith

each day. The Holy Spirit truly is alive and well helping extraordinary things to happen here.

I want to say “Thank You!” to everyone who participated in any way with our Gala this past weekend.

To put on such an event takes a year’s worth of planning and many, many hands! Everyone’s hard work and ef-

fort was noticed and appreciated. A special thank you to Fr. Storey, Kathi Rohr, and Dave and Karen Gilbert

for spearheading this important event for our Parish and School.

Thank you to all the volunteers. The building looked amazing! The food was delicious! ‘The lighting

and the decorations in the gym were beautiful! The rooms and live auction were chock full of your generous

donations! Everything was done in Holy Spirit style!

And the generosity of our guests was EXTRAORDINARY! Thank you to those who gave so willingly to

the Fund A Need this year. You will see the fruits of your gifts as we begin to place additional security

measures both in and outside our building . Plus, we will be able to continue to assist those families who de-

sire a Catholic education for their children but need help in doing so! We are all family, and being able to as-

sist our family members in times of need is what we are called to do. Thank you for helping us make that hap-

pen!

We are so blessed to be part of this faith community. Your commitment to our Parish and School is so very

evident and greatly appreciated each and every day. As we continue our Advent journey together, let us pray:

“For all the gifts of my life Lord, I thank you!

Peace,

Michele Watson
