UPGRADE OF PAYGLOBAL EXPLORER – 1.94

GENERAL OVERVIEW

This document is a guide to Upgrade PayGlobal Explorer.

PayGlobal Explorer is a simple program used by Compass Group sites to submit times worked by employees and view basic pay related information.

The PayGlobal Explorer Site User Manual can be used to assist users to perform these tasks.

Follow the instructions in this guide to install and configure PayGlobal Explorer for your site.

WHAT YOU NEED TO RUN THIS PROCESS

• Access to the Internet.

• About 10-60 minutes depending on the speed of your Internet connection and if an installation of the program is required.

Additional assistance can be sort from your local IS support contact or the Payroll Systems Administrator.

STEP 1 – INSTALLING PAYGLOBAL EXPLORER

You can expect this step to take about five to thirty minutes depending on if a download of the program is required.

To upgrade your version of PayGlobal Explorer use the following steps:

1. Open Internet explorer and go to the following link:

http://my.eurest.com.au/mysite/setup/payglobal/installpayglobalexplorer.exe

This will automatically start downloading the latest version of PayGlobal Explorer as shown:

2. If the following screen appears select ‘Open’

Note: You may not have the following screen appear. If you don’t, continue with the install process.

3. Note: You may not have the following screen appear. If you don’t, continue with the install process.

This will tell you how long it will take to download the program. The time will depend on how good your Internet connection is

The Blue Line will tell you how much of the program you have downloaded.

6. The installation will commence. The first screen should look like the following. Click ‘Next’ to continue.

7. The second screen looks like the following screenshot. Read the End-User Licence Agreement. Click the check box beside ‘I Agree’ and click ‘Next’.

8. The ‘Choose Destination Location’ screen below will display. Click ‘Next’ to install in the default location (please do not change this).

9. The ‘Select Components’ screen below will display. Click ‘Next’ to continue. (Please do not change this setting.)

10. The ‘Select Program Manager Group’ screen below will display. Click ‘Next’ to continue. (Please do not change this setting).

11. Click ‘Next’ to complete the installation of PayGlobal Explorer.

12. The system will now install PayGlobal Explorer from the web page to the PC. This process is very fast, and should take only a few seconds.

13. At the conclusion of the install, the ‘Installation Complete’ screen will display. Click ‘Finish’, and the Installation window will close.

This concludes Step 1 of the installation.

STEP 2 & 3 – SETUP PAYGLOBAL

1. Create a desktop shortcut on the Desktop using the following path:

C:\Program Files\PayGlobal\Explorer\PGEXPLORER.exe.

2. Open PayGlobal. This will automatically setup all the data tables used by PayGlobal Explorer.

3. Close PayGlobal. PayGlobal must be closed to download the Site Profile.

STEP 4 – CONFIGURE/DOWNLOAD THE SITE PROFILE

4. Open internet explorer and go to the following site address:

http://my.eurest.com.au/mysite/setup/payglobal/payglobal.asp

This will open and display the following page:

5. Click in the ‘Site Code’ field and type in your site code and click ‘Next’.

6. The screen will display your site’s name. Verify that this is your site – if so click ‘Next’. If not, contact the Payroll Systems Administrator for further assistance.

NOTE: The following error may appear. This error means the site profile has already been downloaded previously. To reset the site profile, contact the Payroll Systems Administrator.

7. Note: You may not have the following screen appear. If you don’t, continue with the download process.

This will tell you how long it will take to download the program. The time will depend on how good your Internet connection is

11. After a couple of seconds the following screen will appear. Click OK.

12. You will be returned to the screen below. Click the button in the top right corner or the ‘Close’ button to close the screen.

13. You will be returned to the screen below. Click the button in the top right corner to close the web page and complete the task.

PayGlobal Explorer is now configured with your site details. The next section of this document will lead you through logging in for the first time.

STEP 5 – OPENING FOR THE FIRST TIME

1. Open PayGlobal Explorer, using your start button

If you have upgraded PayGlobal from an earlier version when you open PayGlobal Explorer for the first time after upgrading you will be asked the following question. If you do select ‘Yes’ and the program will automatically opened after upgrading the database.

2. PayGlobal Explorer will start, and present a log in screen. The login ID will show ‘Z’. The “Z user” is for Helpdesk use only.

3. Click the down arrow button to see a list of users.

4. Click on ‘USER1’ to set that user’s password.

5. Click in the Password field. Type ‘NOTSET’ and click ‘Ok’ to continue.

Note: Do not try your old password as your old Password has been reset

6. An information box will appear to let you know you password. Click ‘OK’ to continue.

9. Click in the ‘Confirm new password’ field. Now type in the same password again. Click ‘OK’ to continue.

10. An information box will appear to tell you the password has been changed. Click ‘OK’.

You have now successfully completed step 5.

STEP 6 – CHECKING THE UPGRADE

You can expect this step to take about five minutes. With PayGlobal open follow the following steps:

CHECK THE VERSION OF PAYGLOBAL EXPLORER

1. From the toolbar, click on Help and select About from the menu that appears. (as shown below)

2. The following screen will appear telling you which version of PayGlobal Explorer you are running. Record the version you are running, as it will be needed to complete Step 8.

After the upgrade should have Version 1.23.0.0 or higher displayed.

CHECK YOUR SITE PROFILE IS CORRECT

3. From the toolbar Click on 'Admin' and select 'Options' from the menu that appears (as shown below)

4. The following message will appear. Click OK

5. From the 'General' Tab, Record the instillation name on a piece of paper, as it will be needed to complete Step 8.

6. Click on the PayGlobal Server Tab.

7. Check that the fields look as shown below. Record the User Name (Manager) on a piece of paper, as it will be needed to complete Step 8.

You have now completed Step 6.

Your user name should be 'X' followed by your 6-digit site code.

STEP 7 – SYNCHRONISE WITH PAYGLOBAL

You can expect this step to take about five minutes.

1. Make sure the Computer is connected to the internet.

2. Click the Synchronise button on the PayGlobal toolbar.

PayGlobal will connect to the Internet and download data for your site. The download can take up to a minute or two to complete.

When you are attempting to synchronise you may get one of the example errors. If you do follow the instructions given, if you don’t then proceed to step 8.

PROBLEMS CONTACTING ‘PG.EXPLORER.EUREST.COM.AU’

This error (shown below or in a simular message) is caused by one of the following:

1. You are not connected to the Internet

2. Your Internet service provider is has some problems

3. Your have firewall issues. (It is only ever a Firewall issue if you have a non Compass Group PC or the computer is linked to the clients network.)

Solution:

Step 1- Check your Internet connection. Disconnect and reconnect if necessary.

Step 2- Check by opening Microsoft Internet Explorer and searching for www.compass-group.com.au. If you can connect then it could be Error type 3

Step 3- Contact the Payroll Systems Administrator. A firewall issue will take a few days to sort out.

RPM NOT RUNNING

This error shown below indicates you have successfully connected to the PayGlobal Server, however it is not available. This can occur for the following reasons:

• Server is being rebooted

• Server is undergoing Maintenance

• PayGlobal is being upgraded

Note: In any of theses cases and email forewarning of the server down time will be forwarded to the site.

Solution:

This issue will be fixed when the PayGlobal server is up and running.

Try submitting later. If this issue persist after several attempts, Contact the Payroll Systems Administrator.

INTERNAL PASSWORD ISSUE

This is caused because the password used to identify your site with the server does not match or has become corrupted.

Solution:

Contact the Payroll Systems Administrator for further assistance. This may take 10-15 minutes to fix.

LOGIN EXPIRED

For security purposes if a PayGlobal site profile has not been used for longer than 30 days the site profile will expire.

Solution:

Contact the Payroll Systems Administrator to have your site profile reactivated.

This will take 5 minutes to fix.

STEP 8 – SEND INSTALLATION DETAILS TO PAYROLL

Step 6 – Checking the upgrade, will assist you in collecting the information needed

1. Open internet explorer and go to the following site address:

This will open and display the following page:

2. Complete the web page with the following information:

• Site Location number

• Date installed

• Your Name

• Your Contact Number (with area number)

• Time taken to complete

• Answer the ‘How do you connect’ Question

• Enter the version number (Should be 1.23.0.0 or higher)

• Record the Installation name using the dropdown box (Should be AUG06 Compass…)

Exit PayGlobal and you have now completed the installation process.
