    Project Scope - Summery

    This project is formulated to study

    Capability of the Unified Power Flow

    Controller (UPFC) as a power system

    stabilizer

    As a case study Matugama, Kukule,

    Horana Pseudo Island of the nationalpower system is selected.

    Studied the MatLab Simulink software

    Studied the UPFC model in MatLab Progress by October

    Developed a theoretical back ground

    Created the MatLab Model of the sub-network selected.

    Studied the created network with the UPFC model with differentpossible cases.

    Conclusion

    UPFC provide additional damping

    coefficient to the power system under

    transient condition.

    Therefore, it has been decided that the

    UPFC can perform as a stabilizer.
