Ø Description: Investigate teaching ratios and proportional relationships using bar diagrams, double number lines, equivalent ratio tables, and graphs as described in the Common Core State Standards for Mathematics. Learn how to use these tools to increase student understanding of ratios and proportions. Deepen your understanding of the Mathematical Practice Standards and your grade-‐level Content Standards as you increase your resources for teaching ratios and proportional reasoning. Gain experience utilizing bar diagrams, double number lines, equivalent ratio tables, and graphs in a variety of mathematical situations and increase your comfort with these new tools. Apply the use of these tools and strategies to solving multi-‐step problems involving simple interest, sales tax, commission, and percent increase or decrease.
