Y V SUBBA REDDY - CMD

The main promoter of SWARNA GROUP of companies is Mr. Y.V.Subba Reddy. Mr. Reddy has done his MBA in Finance from Shivaji University, Maharashtra in the year 1983. After post graduation he was involved in agricultural operations by introducing and implementing modern farming equipments, tools and farming methods to have better yields of agricultural produce. He was admired by thousands of fellow agriculturists for his selection of food grains as well as commercial crops. During his entrepreneurial career he has diversified into many sectors such as fisheries, aqua culture, transportation, Real Estate and Power. He was very successful in the real estate sector where he has many achievements to his credit. He is very committed on execution of the infrastructure projects and also has plans to build a total capacity of 300 M.W in the near future. Mr. Reddy is a very influential person in the state of Andhra Pradesh and is well respected among corporate and political circles in South India.

Y. VIKRANTH REDDY - Director

Mr. Vikranth Reddy has been trained in United States with a Masters in Business Management and Biotechnology from the Carnegie Mellon University. Previously he has obtained a graduate degree in Biotechnology from the Pennsylvania State University. Vikranth is charted with guiding the company’s expansion and head its operations in Biotechnology. He is also responsible for aligning the Company in local and international markets to attract critical skill sets so as to ensure effective operations of the company.

Vikranth is also a founding member of Hetero Pharmacy Limited. He was picked along with an initial three-member team to conceptualize and establish this pharmacy chain for Hetero drugs, one of the largest drug manufacturers in India. Today, Hetero Pharmacy consists of 200 stores and employs about 1000 people. Prior to Hetero, Vikranth has worked with Rodman & Renshaw a leading investment bank in New York on a wide variety of private equity and divestiture assignments.

GOURANGA SATHY – Vice President

Mr. Gouranga Sathy is a Chartered Engineer, having graduated in Civil & Mechanical Engineering from Madras University and a Post Graduated in Structural Engineering. He has significant experience of 30 years in Infrastructure Projects. He has excelled in the management of Mega Highway, Power Projects, Heavy Civil Projects and Competencies in End to End/Concept to Completion of Highway, Power Airport/Sea Port, and EPC/T.K Projects in India & Overseas.

He is one of the Outstanding Senior most Professionals of Indian Construction Contracting Industry. He has served reputed groups like Tata’s, GVK, Unitech, and GJF in India & Africa. He has presented papers & participated in several Seminars on Construction Engineering and an Author of books on Construction Project Management.

P. HARSHAVARDHAN – Director

Mr. Harshavardhan is an MBA from Sivaji University, Kolhapur. He has rich experience in the areas of general administration, human resources and marketing, which he gained in a career spanning almost three decades. Prior to joining the Swarna Group of companies he worked in Gimpex Pvt. Ltd., a Chennai based mineral exporting company for about 12 years, where he was responsible for handling production, general administration, human resources, exports and marketing. In 1994 he joined Powergrid Corporation Ltd. and served till 2007 in the Human Resources area in senior managerial positions. In Powergrid Corporation Ltd, he served in Jammu, Kanpur, Faridabad and Hyderabad before joining the Swarna Group.

ENERGY

Our presence in the power sector is widely distributed and our power basket contains a right mix of both renewable as well as conventional sources of energy. Our management’s philosophy is to evaluate potential business opportunities in green field areas. These ideas are then embraced with innovative technologies so as to deliver the promises in time to all the stakeholders.

COAL

The group has ambitious plans to foray in to acquisition of overseas coal mines that have abundant reserves with high calorific value, low ash content and import/supply to thermal Power projects.The company is on its way in acquiring a coal mine in Indonesia. The coal mine is estimated to have reserves of 100 million tonnes of coal reserves. The group has tied up with various international Investors & Coal-mining companies with whom we are aggressively pursuing assets in Indonesia and Africa.

Hydro Electric Power

We are implementing a 4.5 M.W mini Hydel power Project in the state of Karnataka across the river Tungabhadra. Estimated to be commissioned by September 2011.We have approvals for 2 M.W Mini Hydel power project across the river Sharavathi in the Shimoga District of Karnataka. Expected to commission by March 2012.

Wind Power

We have already commissioned 4.65 M.W of Wind power projects in the year 2008 in the states of Tamilnadu and Karnataka. The generation is satisfactory and we have an additional allotment of 7 M.W in the state of Karnataka that will be commissioned by 2011. We are identifying potential wind sites in south India build an overall capacity of 50M.W in the next 5 years.

Solar Power:

SWARNA wants to enter into the Solar Power Sector in a big way though the Solar Energy technology is four to five times costlier than conventional fossil fuel energy. SWARNA wants to go in for the latest NANO technology in harnessing Solar Energy so that the efficiency increases from 15% to 50%.Though our advent into this area is off late we are taking concrete measures to have a strong presence by associating with the global players for sourcing the equipment as well as to have a manufacturing facility in India to meet the growing demand for the Solar cells and modules all over the world. We have entered in to a PPA with NEDCAP of A.P Government for setting up a 2 M.W Solar photovoltaic Power Project. Swarna plans to install at least 50MW within the next 3 years.

INFRASTRUCTURE

Our subsidiary Swarna Projects Private Limited was incorporated on 01.01.2009 with the main objective of undertaking infrastructural projects such as building of roads and highways, waterways, Communication Systems, water supply, sanitation & generation, transmission of power, and undertaking the execution of Power Projects on turn Key Basis. The company is well balanced with the right blend of technical people who are capable to execute various infrastructural projects. The company wishes to participate in the bidding of infrastructural projects all over India and have ambitious plans to have a strong foothold in its operations. Electrical Division

The company was very quick to grab the opportunity in proving itself and has been awarded a major project which is the part of the Maharashtra infrastructure phase-II of rural electrification. The contract is to be implemented on turkey basis for the design, supply, test, transport, construction, erection, testing and commissioning of HT/LT lines, New 33/11 KV substations, Augmentation of substations, Distribution transformers of various capacities, Renovation and modernization works, HVDS lines and transformers and allied works including 2 years warranty period for Maharashtra infrastructure plan phase-II. The total size of the contract is Rs. 160 crores which the company has already started execution and is scheduled to complete the work before 31.03.2011. However the Swarna projects have successfully completed the following activities and events at Buldhana division under Amravati zone:

33/11 KV, 1x5MA New substation with RSJ structures – 4 Substations 33/11 KV substations, 3.15MA-5MA (augmentation) -5 Substations 1x5MA additional power transformer with gantry structures for 33KV bus – 5 Substations 11KV, 63KVA distribution transformer centers on 9mtrs x 100 x 116 mm RSJ poles with Kit-kat

Dist box – 650 DTC 11 KV line with 34 sq.mm AAAC conductor & 200kg PSC poles – 650 kms 33 KV S/C Line Pin Type – 65 kms R&M work of 33/11 KV substation (indoor to outdoor) 2x5MA – 1 Substation 33 KV FEEDER BAY – 4 Items Replacement of single phase meter, 5-30 static meter – meters

Highway Projects

SWARNA has in its pool experienced highway professionals and also have access to several reputed high way design consultants; SWARNA is in the process of tying up with reliable and resourceful developers who are willing to partner in JV/ consortium for successful implementation of high way projects. Potential partners include BBUNL, EPI, IRCON, NBCC and others in private sector like SREI, ILFS, IDFC and high way construction contractors. SWARNA hopes to secure/implement projects of Rs 2000 million annually as per the Business Plan for the next 3 years up to 2014.Power Projects

SWARNA has vast technical resources and expertise in the turnkey execution of coal based Thermal power projects. The main focus in this Contracting services for Coal based Thermal Power Projects will be:

A Beginning was made in the year 1995 which marked as a very significant year for us from a construction point of view and there was no looking back since then. Those are our projects that brought smiles and cheers to our valued customers that left a strong association with us for years. Shriram Global Entropolis: An integrated township project being developed in over 80 acres of land in Visakhapatnam. We are developing a world-class township compromising apartments, villa, club house, mall and Hotel. The project will consist of 7 million sq.ft of built up area that is first of its kind in Visakhapatnam.

A residential project of 364 apartments divided into 7 Blocks situated in Yelahanka Bangalore.

INDUS Gene Expressions Ltd (IGEL) is a start-up venture incorporated in the United States with principal operations located in Bangalore, South India.
