• 1st CC magnet– Cold mass at LBNL

• First physical (CMM) and electrical measurements complete;• Design of the cooling circuit finalized for Fermilab testing;• Vacuum potting prep underway;• Thermal stress analysis during cool-down complete;• PID (Piping and Instrumentation Diagram) in progress.

– Quench protection• Contract signed with MIT;• Preliminary analysis of QP indicated 4 sub-divisions may be adequate

(original design has 8);• Design of the stabilization of HTS and SC current and QP leads

underway at MIT.

• Winding procedure review in China (Mar. - Apr. 2012)• Winding of the 2nd coil could start June 2012 or earlier if we

decide to mix two different SC wires
