Historical Centre A meeting was held on the 26th August with a good number in attendance. As you know we were gifted the premises by the Shire. The Centre has now be-come Incorporated and is only waiting on the titles to become available to us.
The Centre has had a great amount of interest with regard to John Williamson. There has been a Northern Times arti-cle, some Weekly Times photos of John Williamson memorabilia and an interview (still to be published). There has been interviews on ABC Horsham and Mildura. John Williamson has read reports in papers sent to him by his old Nanny!! and is more than willing to help.
The theme of the meeting was "Where do we go from here?". Plans to revamp the building making it suitable for a His-torical Centre were discussed and all-present were asked for an input.
At present the plans look good and the Committee is keen to make a start. As this venture is a community project, anyone out there who has any ideas, skills, thoughts, or time on your hands, please contact the Committee - they will be more than pleased to listen.
To Our Breakfast Volunteers The students of Quambatook Group School would like to invite all the break-fast volunteers to breakfast. The students will be cooking breakfast on Friday September 17th. We would like to thank you for giving us breakfast by giv-ing you breakfast. Please contact the school by Thursday 16th, phone 54571208, if you would like to come. We hope to see you there. From the students of Quambatook Group School.
Cystic Fibrosis Great Escape Car Rally visits Quambatook The Cystic Fibrosis car rally will be in Quambatook on Tuesday September 14thas part of a 10 day jouney. They will be based at the Tractor Pull complex where they will be having lunch. As part of their visit the Quambatook Heri-tage Working Machinery Group have or-ganized a fun tractor pull for the rally cars. The community is invited to be part of the afternoon. Cystic Fibrosis Australia (CFA) is asking Australian’s to donate to this cause that gets no government funding. All donations go to research and support to continue the quest for a cure. Cystic Fibrosis (CF) is a genetic condition that primarily affects the lungs and digestive system and sadly results in a shortened life expectancy. In Australia every four days a child is born with Cystic Fibrosis. Every baby is screened at birth for Cystic Fibrosis, as over a million Australians are carriers of the gene. Funds raised by The Great Escape will be directed to research projects, including the Cystic Fibrosis Data Registry and support services for children and young adults liv-ing with Cystic Fibrosis.
