Static service db_unique_name_DGMGRL is registered with listeners

Prerequisites



Login to Enterprise Manager 12c Cloud Control console

Navigate from Targets-> Databases

Tasks



Click on Add and navigate with necessary information

Procedure adds Primary and Standby databases as database targets

Tasks



Navigate to primary database homepage

Navigate to Availability Section & choose Add Standby Database

Choose - Manage an existing standby database with DataGuard broker

Navigate with necessary information to complete the configuration

Perform Routine Maintenance

Routine activities like following can be performed:

Change the protection mode

Disable Broker

Change the State of a Database

Change the Properties of a Database

View alertlogs of the Database .. etc

Allows to browse primary database active sessions

Allows to swap monitoring settings as well, including metric thresholds

Complete - All redo will be applied

Role Transitions are performed from DataGuard Administration page

Upon failover older primary needs to be reinstated as standby

Flashback is a prerequisite for reinstate

Components of DataGuard Performance Page



Redo Generation Rate shows the redo generation rate (KB/sec) on the

primary.

Lag Times Show the following:

Transport Lag (approximate number seconds of redo not yet available on the standby)

Apply Lag (approximate number of seconds the standby is behind the primary)

Apply Rate Displays the standby apply rate (KB/sec)

Test Application

Built in application to generate a workload on the primary database.

Easy way to view performance metrics when the primary database is under a load
