VOL 20, ISSUE 27 | 5 SEPTEMBER 2018 Grow Strong in Your Weakness Having reached the final three weeks of Term 3 in 2018 at St Paul, many of us might be feeling run down. Often our natural preference is to plan out our day to the finest detail, to be prepared for everything that will occur and for all of the jobs that we have to do. But what happens when unexpected things pop up? What happens when things do not turn out as we planned? We may become overwhelmed, discouraged and stressed, feeling weak and unsuccessful. God reminds us that we should grow strong in our weaknesses. Each of His children has received different gifts. For some of us that might be abundant strength and stamina, but for many we have been given the humble gift of frailty. This is not a punishment, nor does it mean that we are lacking in faith. On the contrary, our weaknesses urge us to rely on God and trust in Him to get through each day. God says look to Me and lean on Me rather than on your own understanding, trust Me to guide you and strengthen you as you need. Proverbs 3: 5-6 (NLT) 5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. 6 Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take. I pray that you may all grow strong in your weakness and develop the ability to trust God and depend on Him continually. Grow Strong in Your WeaknessHaving reached the final three weeks of Term 3 in 2018 at St Paul, many of us might be feeling run down.

Proverbs 3: 5-6 (NLT)

5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding.

6 Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.

I pray that you may all grow strong in your weakness and develop the ability to trust God and depend on Him continually.

INSPIRE photos featured this week:• Special moments of Yvonne Folland

From the PrincipalSPRING IS HEREIt was a pleasure this week to begin Monday in the sunshine greeting families as they arrive for the first school day in Spring. Whilst there may still be some rain to come, the promise of warmer weather can be incredibly revitalising.

With September comes changes to uniform, including the need for students to wear their hats. You will find that teachers are lenient this week, with lots of reminders for students, however next week students must have a hat in order to play at school and SPLASH, and to participate in PE lessons. Please read other important uniform information in this edition of Inspire.

Another important and exciting part of September is the preparation for our Year 1 to 4 concert. Please be sure to note information through Inspire and from your classroom teachers about requirements for concert, from volunteer requests to schedules and costume needs.

STAFFING NEWSIt is with mixed emotions that I share this news with you regarding our much-loved and long-serving Reception teacher, Mrs Yvonne Folland. Yvonne announced to staff last week that she will be retiring at the end of this year. I know that Mrs Folland has been an important part of school transition, school life, and basketball development for many of our students, past and present, including parents of current students. We will be farewelling Mrs Folland properly at the end of the year, however you will notice that this week’s Inspire photos have a particular theme to celebrate just a few of Mrs Yvonne Folland’s St Paul moments. Thank you Yvonne for your service to St Paul!

From the Deputy PrincipalTRAFFIC REMINDERSThank you to all of you who have been getting used to waiting at the crossing, and to going down to the roundabout to only turn left into the car park.

Please remember that the parking in front of the church should not be accessed in the morning and afternoon drop-off, as this means you are driving the wrong way into an ‘exit-only’ driveway. This creates more danger for students, and this is not a school traffic supervision area.

We would also like you to be mindful not to line up too early in the afternoons for pick-up time. Arriving in this line too early blocks other parents from accessing the courts for parking. The timing of traffic is never an exact science, but if you find you arrive in the pickup line earlier than 3pm, please consider another lap around the block, or parking in the courts or a side street. This will really help those parents who need to park on the courts for a teacher meeting, or to collect some younger students from classrooms. Thank you!

From the Wellbeing LeaderFATHER’S DAY STALLA HUGE thank you to Trisca Price and our wonderful parent volunteers for the organisation of the Father’s Day Stall last Thursday morning. This was a wonderful and special opportunity for children to purchase an array of beautiful gifts for their fathers and significant males in their lives. We thank each and every Father, Grandfather and significant male in our St Paul community!
