We are coming to the close of the Summer season, and more of our groups will
resume soon—Choirs, Tuesday Bible Study, Quilters. Look for updates on those
things in the coming days and weeks.
There are some summer events in August—the Highlands Conference Corn Roast
is Sunday August 4th at 4:00PM —HMLRC.
There is an opportunity to serve others at the Food Pantry the week of August 12th
-16th.
And, as always, we will worship together on Sunday mornings—invite a friend or
neighbor to come with you!

CHRISTA POTTER’S SENIOR VOICE/PIANO RECITAL
Christa Potter, piano student of Wrenda Fuller, has chosen St. John to host her
Senior Voice/Piano Recital on August 12th at 3:00PM. There will be a Reception
following the recital in the Fellowship Hall. The congregation is invited and en-
couraged to attend.
Celebration of Life for Dorothy Meier
There will be a Celebration of Life Service for Dorothy Meier, mother of Dianne Suhrbier, on Friday,
September 13th at 2PM at Our Savior Lutheran Church, Southern Pines, NC. Pastor Scott will be offi-
ciating.

St. John Choir Rehearsal
Combined Choir on Wednesday August 28th @6:30PM
Sunday, August 11th at 3PM St. John will host a Senior Piano
and Voice Recital for Christa Potter. She wanted to have it here
as she has played and sung here frequently, and she feels very
welcome here. Christa will be attending VA Tech in the fall.

FINANCIAL REPORT
June was a good month for St. John financially. Income was above budget while expenses were below budget. St.
John is now $3500 in the black at the mid-year point.
