Advent Devotional: Jot down your Christmas memories, reflections, or expe-riences (on one page), with a related Bible verse to open and a short prayer to close (and your name), and e-mail it to Mary Lou Hutchinson [email protected] or Mike Reinert [email protected], or bring it to the Church office by October 19th (forms are also available at the Welcome Centers). Entries will be posted on our web-site & hard copies will be available.
Operation Christmas Child informational flyers are now available at the Wel-come Centers! Consider packing a simple shoebox with small gifts, school supplies, snacks & prayers for needy children around the world Packed boxes will be collected during three weeks starting Nov. 2-16. CROPWalk TODAY! Donations & registrations will be received in the breeze-way between the Sanctuary & the Education Building today. Sponsor someone or join the walk at Gring’s Mill today at 1:30 pm (reg. at 12:30). Our church is helping to fight hunger with donations going directly to the Greater Berks Food Band & to Church World Service.
Calling all men to the 2014 Men's Retreat at Pocono Plateau Camp & Re-treat Center on November 14-16. This year’s theme is "The Tin Man Gets His Heart Back - The Choice for Abundant Life." Adult singles group, Berks Friends In Fellowship, is having their monthly get-together on Monday, Oct. 20th at 6:00 pm in the Community Center. This month will feature a Soup & Sandwich Supper at a cost of $4/person. Please RSVP by the 18th to Iris @ 610-334-2868. Also, a trip is in the works for Oct 18th to Jim Thorpe for their Fall Festival. meeting in the church parking lot at 9:30 am and carpooling. Please call Iris for questions or more information.
WLUMC is forming a short-term Festival Choir to participate at the 8:00 & 11:00 AM services on All Saints Sunday, Nov. 2. Rehearsals will be held on October 22 & 29 at 7:00 PM in the Music Room, and anthems will include: “Come Down, Angels” (Drennan), “Dwell in the Light Forevermore” (Larson) and “We Are Surrounded” (Martin) Please join us in our remembrance and cel-ebration of the saints from our congregation! Planting Seeds For Ministry Growth: Hopewell United Methodist Church is excited to partner with the Christ Servant Ministry of the Eastern Pennsylvania Conference to provide an excellent training opportunity for laity on November 14-15, 2014. The new dates of TUESDAY AND WEDNES-DAY, NOVEMBER 4 AND 5, are now open for reservations. Every family photographed will receive a free 8x10" picture. Also, please help us make the directory as complete and comprehen-sive as possible by referring to today's bulletin insert.

CRAFTERS’ CHRISTMAS BA-ZAAR will be held Saturday, Novem-ber 8 from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm in the Community Center. If you would like to make a craft or rent a table for this event ($15 per 8 ft. table), please con-tact Laura Trewella at 610-373-0614. As we continue to work on our new

FINANCIAL SNAPSHOT: We give thanks to God for the generous support received each week for our church in ministry! Through Sep-tember 30, 2014 giving is up by al-most 4%, but we are still $25,800 behind where we ought to be (2.72% behind) to meet all of our budgeted ministry commitments. Your prayer-ful support and generous giving will ensure that we can meet all of our obligations this year, as we seek to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.
