Countryside is one of only three centers funded by the county for career oriented television production. The T.V. Production program is ideal for students looking to meet the performing arts credit requirements. Those in advanced level classes T.V. III and up can earn honors credit for the course. Graduates work as anchors, reporters, producers, directors, editors, engineers and just about everything else in the television/entertain-ment indus-try. However, a student doesn’t have to want a career in TV Production to take this class. The skills they learn will help make them a better attorney, sales manager, teacher, or better at just about any career they choose.

Countryside High School’s television pro-duction program provides students with the skills they need for a strong future in today’s

technology-driven world. Graduates have been em-ployed by every TV station in the Tampa Bay Area- the 13th largest market in the United States, plus CNN, ESPN, Fox, The Today Show, PAX, CTN, MTV, and local stations throughout the country. At one point !ve former students worked at the #1 station in Orlando in editing and engineering.

Former stu-dents run the JumboTron screen for most pro sports teams in Tampa Bay, including the Bucs and Light-ning. Several are actors, one is a senior producer for

The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, and one is even a member of the Blue Man Group.
