    Splice Table - pneumatic clamps and a cutting surface with a built-in straight edge and adhesive tape roll holder

    facilitates accurate and fast splicing.

    Unwind Tension System - a high friction roller connected to a magnetic brake creates web tension. A transducer

    roll located downstream from the unwind tension drum measures the amount of web tension, feeding that

    information to the tension controller, which in turn controls the magnetic brake. The tension controller features

    convenient setting buttons and numeric display of set point and running tension.

    Edge Guide - an electronic edge guide precisely controls the web position of opaque and transparent materials.

    Control panel functions include push buttons for Jog, Stop and Emergency Stop (which remains engaged when

    activated). Controls for the roll lift and brake, splice table clamps, web tension and edge guide are conveniently

    located.

    PRINTING- Maximum printing width is 17.25 inches.

    - Plate cylinder circumferences range from 8 to 24 inches.

    - Drying is by high velocity air, with three heat settings.

    - Lineal (web direction) running registration adjustment is motorized 360 with controls located at the print tower

    and the master control panel at the delivery end of the press.

    - Lateral (across the web) running registration adjustment is 3/8 inch.

    - Ceramic anilox roll, 65 durometer meter roll and drop-in doctor blade are included.

    - Idling drive for the anilox roll and metering roll engages when the press stops.- Inking system contact with the plate cylinder is thrown off before the press stops for plate wiping.

    - Impression rolls are through-hardened precision ground tool steel treated for corrosion resistance.

    - The inking system can be skewed to achieve perfect alignment to the printing plate, and to compensate for any

    inconsistencies in plate or stickyback material thickness.

    DIECUTTING

    Three diecutting stations are standard:

    - Maximum die circumference is 24 inches.

    - Minimum die circumference capability is 6.5" for top side diecutting and 8" for bottom side diecutting.

    - Manual 3/8" lineal registration adjustment.

    - Removable through-hardened precision ground tool steel base rolls in each station.

    - Lower base rolls provide support and stability for the removable base rolls.

    - Die pressure hardware is quickly and easily removed and installed to expedite die change.

    - Bearer and bearing oil wipers.

    WASTE MATRIX REWIND

    - Single 30" rewind capacity.

    - 3" pneumatic coreholder with inflate/deflate switch on the control panel.

    - Driven and capstan and pressure roll for efficient waste stripping and rewinding.

    SLITTING AND PULL ROLL

    - Three laterally adjustable air operated slitters, with a through hardened and ground tool steel base roll.

    - Pneumatic adjustment for pull roll pressure.

    - Pull roll can be removed for cleaning.

    SHEETING

    One diecutting station is provided.

    - Maximum die circumference of 24 inches.

    Web cleaner - Various systems; one or two-sides, wet or dry brush or non-contact, and static eliminator bars.

    PRINTING

    Adhesive print kit - Separate the liner and facestock of P.S. material for the purpose of printing on the adhesive

    side of the facestock, then relaminate the two webs together (also called delam-relam).

    Automatic registration control system - An electronic system monitors and controls printing registration.

    Cartridge doctor blade - The cartridge seals against the anilox roll, eliminating the need for an open ink

    reservoir and doctor roll. Requires an ink pump. Maximum printing width is 16-1/4 inches.

    Ceramic anilox roll - Additional anilox rolls with other cell counts and volumes may be specified.

    Diecutter - A diecutting module with up to three diecutting stations can be located between any press modules.

    Ink pump - Air-operated centrifugal or electric peristaltic ink pumps.

    Reverse print kit - Printing on the bottom side of the web can be done without the use of a turn bar by reversing

    the rotational direction of the print station. A cartridge doctor blade system is required, and is included with the

    kit.

    Rotary screen head - Rotary screen printing with UV inks. Available with automatic register control and variable

    power UV lamps.

    Turn bar - Used to turn a web upside-down; typically for back printing (see Reverse Print Kit for an alternate

    method for back printing). Compressed air required.

    UV curing - UV lamps of various power are available, with manual or automatic speed-tracking power supply.

    Infrared (IR) cut filters are also available for heat control. An exhaust blower is included.

    Chill roll - For heat sensitive stocks, a chill roll will remove most of the heat from UV, IR or hot air dryers.

    DIECUTTING

    Additional waste rewind - Add a second 30" diameter waste rewind for piggyback material stripping or for

    laminating release film rewinding.Additional die stations - Space on the waste rewind module for a fourth diecutting station.

    Dual waste rewind - provides two waste rewind shafts for double waste stripping or for winding laminating liner

    and waste matrix. Maximum rewind diameters is 24 inches.

    Hot foil stamping - Add a foil unwind and rewind system, foil saver system and custom engraved stamping dies.

    Lamination unwind - Pneumatic-controlled brake on cantilevered shaft unrolls the laminating film. Laminating

    film with release liner requires a waste matrix rewind stand to rewind the liner.

    Lateral die adjust - Provides 3/8" side-to-side running adjustment of the die for alignment to the printed web.

    Linehole punching - A punching module can be added on a diecutting base.

    Motorized 360 registration - Web direction register change can be made from the main control panel using

    push buttons.

    Narrow die adapter - Adapters for narrower dies and for dies of other press designs.

    Shear cut slitting - Replaces the standard crush cut slitters.

    Waste break detector - Optical sensor monitors the waste matrix and stops the press if the matrix breaks.

    DELIVERY

    Folder - B. Bunch folder and drive connection to the press.

    Rewind roll unloader - A pneumatic lift system unloads the rewind roll.

    Second cantilever rewind shaft - Add a second shaft with 24" rewind capacity.

    Stacker - Three models are available; a conveyor for forms and labels, a stacker for cartons and a de-nesting

    stacker to separate nested diecut cartons. A Batch counter counts and separates batches of sheeted product.

    Tension control - Enhance the rewind drive to include automatic taper tension control.

    ACCESSORIES

    Strobe light - Strobe lighting provides web viewing at production speed - commonly used to check printing

    registration targets.

    Video Plate Mounter - Plate mounter with video cameras to magnify alignment marks 20 times for high

    mounting accuracy.Web break detectors - Optical sensors monitor the web at several points throughout the press. A display panel

    identifies the location of the web break in multiple web break sensor installations.

    Video web viewing system - Video camera-based system with high quality monitor for web inspection at

    production speed. Used for checking print quality and registration.

    Pneumatic systems consisting of a controller, valve, and cylinder must be sized to support and move a load in

    both vertical and horizontal orientations. After determining the orientation and support structure, the maximum

    load that can be moved can be determined. From this information, the cylinder bore and stroke can be calculated

    based on available air pressure and flow. Granted, heavier loads require larger cylinders, higher pressures, or both.

    Still, a cylinder with an 8 in.-bore has a cap-end piston area of about 50 in.2, so it can produce a theoretical thrust

    of 11/2 tons from a supply pressure of only 60 psig.

    CTC Internationalintroduces its Model SHDL-900-EG Edge Guided Heavy Duty Constant Tension Unwind

    Stand.

    The unwind stand can handle a variety of materials including tag, label, board, film, paper, foil and other

    materials used in packaging and converting applications.

    The Heavy-duty double end supported design allows rolls as large as 40 diameter to easily be accommodated.

    Rolls are unwound from a removable air shaft supported at both ends by safety locking chucks.

    The Stand features an integral roll lifting system using 2 heavy duty air cylinders and a minimum number of parts,

    and is capable of lifting rolls exceeding 850 lbs. in weight.

    The closed loop pneumatic tension Control system utilizes a generously sized web festoon whose positionproportionally controls a heavy duty pneumatic braking system, providing precise web tension. Web tension is

    easily adjustable while running.

    Options include splicing table, web pen marking system and end of roll indicator. The machine is customizable

    for a variety of Diameters, Web Widths and core sizes and can be manufactured to meet CE compliance.
