Therearemany,manywaterbornecontaminants,viruses,bacteriaandamoebathatstillmakeitthroughtoday’spurportedlyhigh-techwatersourceprocessing.Theseinclude:

Theanalysistestedthethreetapwatersamplesandthreebottledwatersforbacterialcontamination,impuritiesthataffecttastesuchasdissolvedsolidsandotherfactorssuchasmuddinessandacidity.Italsoscreenedthesamplesforthemineralscalcium,magnesium,sodium(ameasureofsalt),fluorideandnitrate.Neithertapnorbottledwatersampleshaddetectablebacterialcontaminationandallwerewellwithinguidelinelimitsfortheothersubstances.Thereportcontinued:Minerallevelswerenotsignificantlyelevatedinthebottledwaters.WhileMountFranklinhad3.9mgofcalciumperlitre,thiswaswellbelowthe14mgfoundinSydneytapwater,the21mginAdelaidetapwaterandthe4.3mginMelbournetapwater.Onlythecheapestbrand,Farmland,hadhigherlevels,at18mg.Potassiumwassimilar,with0.63mgintheMountFranklinbrand,0.26mginFrantelleand22mginFarmland.Thiscomparedto2.2mg,6.4mgand0.61mginSydney,AdelaideandMelbournetapwaterrespectively.
