CGCT 2015
It gives me immense pleasure to learn that Chitta Gyani Charitable Trust is
holding its Silver Jubilee Free Health Camp on 13.12.2015 at Jamut, Gudvela, district
Bolangir. Man is a social animal. Needless therefore to say that he can neither disown
his responsibility towards the society nor be oblivious of working in his own way for
uplifting the standard of the people having a sub-humane existence. If this realization
dawns upon the majority, the society at large, will behold a remarkable and
revolutionary change in its complexion and character. I am indeed happy that CGCT
is consciously and tirelessly working in this direction under the able leadership of
my son Dr. Datteswar Hota who envisioned and empowered the functioning of the
trust since its inception to this date. I would have certainly loved to be a part of this
humdinger physically but for my senile indisposition. However I am sanguine that
this mega event will be a run-away success.
I sincerely wish CGCT team will steadfastly work in creating more milestones
in their sojourn until the baton is transferred to safe hands.
May God Bless us all !!!

Advisor’s Desk...
I am extremely delighted to be informed that CGCT is embarking upon the gargantuan task of holding
its 25th (Silver Jubilee) Free Health Camp at Jamut, Gudvela of Bolangir District on 13.12.2015. “Service to
Man Kind is Service to God”. While the famous lines of Mahatma Gandhi is perpetually true, how ever the
relevance of the same is all the more important in contemporary society. Apathy towards the suffering
of the poor and protracted indifference has its own implications. Very often this forms the very genesis
of various agitations against the establishment. In view of this lurking danger, the responsibility of both
government and non-governmental organizations has increased substantially. It is therefore satisfying that
CGCT is making significant contribution in rendering service to the poor and ailing populace.
Health camps by voluntary organizations are conducted in regular frequency but what make CGCT
camps unique is its professional approach and the dynamic leadership of Dr. D. Hota. Being a perspicacious
observer of the proceedings since a decade, I can say without any bias that Dr. Hota is a breed apart and
through his unbridled enthusiasm and unassailable work ethics has been greatly successful in utilizing his
men and materials successfully to carry on his childhood passion into a sustained mission.
I take this opportune movement to complement the entire CGCT team for their whole hearted
participation in making the decade long journey a momentous overdrive. I am optimistic that CGCT will
further invigorate their feet in their chosen field of extending service to the suffering humanity without
resting on past Laurels.
Best of luck
Sincerely yours
Justice Arun Kumar Parichha

CGCT 2015
INTRODUCTION :
Health hazard continues to haunt people at
large. While urban population have some access to
expert medical advice and modern treatment
facilities, the poor and the downtrodden residing in
K.B.K. districts and micro interiors suffer due to want
of medical infrastructure and lack of awareness and
many die due to inadequate medical assistance.
Despite multiple endeavors’ by the Government to
improve such conditions, the situation remains far
from satisfactory. The call of circumstances, therefore
is precise and prompt initiatives by non-government
social organizations supplementing the government
efforts.
Moved by the plight and heartrending
predicament of the rural poor, a few forbearing souls
closed ranks in the active initiative of Dr. Datteswar
Hota and Chitta Gyani Charitable Trust saw the light
of the day on 25.11.2004.
The vanguard of this venture is none other
than Dr. Datteswar Hota, who is currently working as
Professor and HOD, Department of Urology, SCB
Medical College, Cuttack and is pioneer of Kidney
Transplant Surgery in the state. A personality with
vision and dedication Dr. Hota is committed to serve
the poor, downtrodden and save them from the
severe health hazard, which they face. He inspire
the founding members to constitute the trust not
only to combat the ailments suffered by the rural
poor but to create health and hygiene awareness
and the trust is doing a commendable work. As an
ambassador of Chitta Gyani Charitable Trust he
moves to tribal areas to locate the health problems
faced by the poor tribal, and then persuade his
fellow Collegues to join the health camp organized
by the Chitta Gyani Charitable Trust, examine and
treat the patients in their inaccessible villages. On
the request of the Chitta Gyani Charitable Trust Dr.
Hota and his associates treats the poor and old
helpless patients free of cost. No doubt the trust
organizes health camps but Dr. Hota is invariably the
Pirot in all the programmes of the trust.

Time moves at a breakneck speed. The small
step undertaken in 2005 took the shape of a decade
long obsession and marched in quick steps till 2015
with the experience of successfully conducting 24
health camps across the state. The time has arrived
to organize the Silver Jubilee camp (No. 25). The
taskforce at CGCT are properly geared-up and leaving
no stones unturned to ensure that the gap between
its own experience and the vision is adequately
bridged. The date and venue of this much awaited
camp are 13.12.2015 at Govt. High School, Jamut,
Gudvela block of Bolangir district respectively.
Dear readers, Silver Jubilee camp may have
emerged as an instant priority for CGCT but the vision
is ever expanding and the efforts to pursue are ever
augmenting. CGCT has a dream to reach-out to the
underprivileged and needy throughout the length
and breadth of Odisha in the forseeable future. The
adage which has gained currency that ‘Even eagles
also need a push’ is indeed sanguine. While CGCT
draws considerable inspiration from this, the famous
lines of Robert Frost are always reverberating in the
minds and hearts of CGCT taskforce.
“The woods are lovely, dark and deep,
But we have promises to keep,
And miles to go before we sleep”.
CONCLUSION :
Philanthropy is easily pronounced a term than
practiced. While we at the trust do not believe in
hyperbolic assertions, we intend to inform the
readers with profound humility that organizing
health camps in remote places, co-ordinating with
doctors, involving administration, ensuring supply
of medicines, employing trained personnel,
transporting various test conducting instruments
remains always a challenging task. CGCT proudly
claims to have developed a professional task force
under the captaincy of Dr. Datteswar Hota who work
with untiring zeal and unwavering focus to ensure
that the thoughts are translated into successful
action. It gives immense pleasure to inform that the
finance required to meet the mounting expenses
are generated independently without a speck of
external dependence. The steady and sustained
efforts put in place to ensure a smile on the face of
the sick and suffering population provides immense
satisfaction to carry on the crusade. In the final hours
of life when one introspects, at least a sense of
contentment would crop up that the precious
opportunity provided by life has not been frittered
away by wishy-washy dealings and mammon
worship.
THAT IS THE ULTIMATE SATISFACTION A HUMAN
BEING EXPECTS IN LIFE.
Thanks.

CGCT 2015
A leading philanthropic organization in the state ofOdisha, the Chitta Gyani Charitable Trust has been aroundthe arena since the winter of 2004 with loads of humanvision to mitigate miseries of all ilk by the panacea ofcare, kindness, service and love. This narration is not todisplay our vainglory in front of all of you nor do we askfor any one’s appreciation. What glory ; what grandeur; what sweetness ; what lustre ; what utility, in every inchof God’s creation. The most beautiful amongst Hiscreatures, the most useful amongst them, do their dutyand they praise the Lord by their deeds : such as thematchless brilliance of the sun and the life giving rays hesheds on all of us ; the enchanting beams of cool joy sendsforth by the moon in the service of God, the lovely bird’schirping in dense forest and the cloud’s richest treasureof purest water, amidst peels of its laughter, thunder andwithout waiting for our admiration disappears.
This piece of writing is rather a most comprehensiveenunciation of the centrality of the conception of thistrust. The CGCT in the first half decade (in its infancy)careened and floundered yet braved along the course tonewer challenges and learnt to overcome hurdles as aseasoned warrior until it settled down to combatscourges, ailments, diseases and discomforts of mind andbody and to the healing of wounds. Couple of years gone, the trust found out it’s course, real and proper, has neverlooked back thence. Headquartered at Cuttack, the CGCTruns it’s flagship project the Susruta Hospital a one stopsolution to myriad ailments, under the tender care of aworkaholic super specialist medico and social activists.
Providing healthcare at the doorsteps of thedrastically deprived, the indigent, those walking the earthin far-off places (the remote areas of our state) whereeven angels fear to tread, has been CGCT’s forte allthrough. It has been organizing Mega health camps withprovisions for, Pathology, eye testing, ultrasonographystudy and endoscopy etc. besides expert diagnosis anddistribution of medicines free for all worth over RupeesSeven lac Rs. 7,00,000/- per camp; twice every yearwhich has been routine exercise of the trust. So far wehave already organized 24 nos. of such camps in differentdistricts of our state. The Susruta Hospital at Cuttackequipped with state of the art technology to carter to theneeds of the critically ill in the state and outside has provento be a disguised boon to the hapless patients thus far ;this is because the trust also provides surgical facility to

the under privileged free of charge. That apart, the surplusmoney we generate through this hospital is being spentfor our health camps in the remotest part of our state.
All said and done, every good deed has a fountforce, a guiding spirit, a propelling agent that makestranslating dreams to reality. If to give glory to the goodis not to be shunned, then Dr. Datteswar Hota’s personwould flash across our minds as the ministering spirit ofthe CGCT. This work addict medico has remained theguardian angel of the trust all through the decade sinceits inception. His being in a top-notch position in thestate’s ace medical set-up as well as in the medicalscenario in the country, he has given undeterred supportand stewardship to this nascent organization.
There are many other profession that offer moremoney, power and glamour, but none commands therespect, dignity and love of a doctor. And we as acharitable organization bow our head before this arrayof selfless medicos whose indefatigueable service andcare at the time of need has made us able to provide thishealth care facility at the doorsteps of the underpriviledged of our state. In the words of RabindranathTagore, “God is there where the tiller is tilling the hardsoil and the pathmaker is breaking the stones”. As we allknow these are the stuff stay back in the remote areaswhere we hardly find time to go and share with them. Our elderly chairman, the very embodiment of humility, piety, virtue and devotion says, “all work is divine and wemust work hard to enjoy the fruits of our labour thatindeed taste sweet ; ‘Manava Seva is Madhab Seva’, ‘LokSeva is Lokesa Seva’, Jana Seva is Janardan Seva’ and ‘JivaSeva is Deva Seva,, each one highlighting the idea thatservice to mankind is worship offered to God’.
We have come this far, trying to match his strideunder the shadow of the moving angel, the lovely birdamongst us, Smt. Gyani Hota whose tireless and undilutedlove keep us energized.
Days are drawing to a close, shadows grow longbefore they mingle into the night. Lots of work are done, and a lot more are still to be done. Before the bodiesperish, Let us not stop singing the ballads of philanthropyin tune of Warren Buffet, Bill Gates and Mark Jukerbergwho say, “the only way that we reach our full humanpotential is if we are able to unlock the gifts of everyperson around the world”.
