Industry Preferences among MBA´s

Top 3 Industries : Management Consulting, Investment Banking, Internet/E-commerce.

· A fifth of men and women alike name management consulting as the industry in which they would ideally like to work.

·The consumer goods industry is much more popular among the women surveyed than among the men, while investment banking is more likely to attract men than women.

·Venture capital, while not among the most popular industries overall, is three times more likely to attract men than women.

Among Business students the Internet, Legal and Advertising/PR industries prove most popular…Management Consulting drops from last year (8% vs.13%).

Among Engineering/science students the Engineering/manufacturing Healthcare/pharmaceutical and Computer hardware and Telecommunications are at the top…..IT consulting has lost much.

IT students are turning their backs on the Internet and Data consulting in favor of Computer software, Engineering/manufacturing, Computer hardware.
