ABOUT USLLS

Established in 2001, University School of Law and Legal Studies (USLLS) has

acquired the status of a distinct institution of legal education in an unparallel

setting of multidisciplinary environment. It has emerged as a premier hub of

legal education in India. It is the best college for law under GGSIP University.

Also, the CET cut-off rank of USLLS (237) outperforms Amity Law School

(1386) and VIPS (2000).

With the objective to serve as an institution of advanced legal studies, USLLS is the first University Law School established in the vicinity of the Supreme Court, Delhi High Court, various subordinate courts, Commissions, Tribunals and various monitoring offices of national and international voluntary organizations. Its Faculty is selected prescribing higher qualification than the University Grants Commission (UGC).

FROM THE PLACEMENT DESK

FROM THE DEAN’S DESK I take great pleasure to introduce the Batch of 2019 of the University School of Law and Legal studies to the legal fraternity. We present to you a group of highly motivated and dynamic students who primarily are driven by their eagerness to learn.

USLLS, since its inception in 2001, has been a hub of academic excellence, critical thinking and holistic development. Other than academic rigor, our students have also proven their mettle in various academic and extracurricular activities. They have excelled in moot courts, published research papers and secured commendable prizes in various competitions. They have assisted in research and the law school has also made inroads into International arena by representing in international competitions like Phillip Jessup C Moot and .William C Vis International Arbitration Competition etc. They have secured admissions for LLM in prestigious foreign universities and are working in law offices in Dubai and Singapore.

In the area of placement also the performance of the law school has been excellent. Students are regularly placed as interns with various leading lawyers, law firms, corporate houses, NGO‟s, PSU‟s and the higher judiciary. This has helped them imbibe the practical knowledge which is especially crucial in the legal profession.

It is my honest beliefs that believe these students are conscientious citizens, dedicated individuals and most important hardworking students who have sound knowledge in field of law. This progress has been facilitated by brilliant former students of this law school who have made a mark for themselves in their respective domain and are doing remarkably well today making us immensely proud of our alumni. I sincerely reckon that given an opportunity that students of this batch shall prove indispensable asset to any organization that they are absorbed and shall strive towards contributing positively and fruitfully to the growth of that establishment as well as legal industry at large.

The Placement and Internship Cell of USLLS is pleased to announce the release of the Placement Brochure, 2019.

The brochure records the highpoints of the Batch of 2014-2019. It underlines the scale of activities of this batch. The batch participated in the moot competitions, debates, arbitration, mediation and other workshops in the Legal Aid. They have attended many national and international conferences, seminars, workshops in diverse areas, ranging from the environment to commercial laws, constitutional matters, etc. Many in the batch contributed research papers, published with various student journals and legal research institutions. The students are focused, and they have clarity about their plans of action. They have been pursuing certificate courses to buttress their qualification in the specialised areas of law that they wish to do.

The students have been enthusiastically working for their placements, and the core team of the students at the cell worked round the clock to provide internships for their batch and also for the juniors. The fraternal spirit in which the seniors and the juniors work as a team is an essential feature of the law school. The batch has also provided mentorship to the juniors. This process helps the juniors to be trained to look for internships and placements for themselves, and it helps in a smooth transition.

The students of USLLS are well-placed in different areas of the legal profession. This strong alumni base has strengthened the Placement and Internship Cell of the USLLS. The alumni readily assist the Cell, as when requested. There are also simultaneous efforts to expand the Cell’s association with the various law firms, and other organisations requiring legal interns.

The students are encouraged to take up internships from the first year with two objectives: first, to attune and sensitise them to societal challenges and legal awareness and second, to facilitate practical training in drafting, writing plaints, preparing briefs, doing legal research and other dimensions of practical training in law. Efforts are made to prepare students for the profession of law.

With these observations, the Placement and Internship Cell of USLLS wishes all success to the batch of 2014-2019.

instead, as per the rules and procedures.

c. All interviews being conducted in the same day may be conducted in different time slots. The

Firms will be required to disclose the results of their Final Interviews and any offer made to
