1. Logging In Open a Web browser put the address for the page to update in the address bar.
http://cmspr.sunderland.ac.uk:8080
Click on the Terminal 4 – Live link on that page.
The Login screen will appear. Put in your User Name and Password, click on Log
in. A message screen will then be displayed.
2. Logging Out
Click on Logout from the Status bar at the top of the page.

3. Viewing Site Structure
Click on Site Structure from the Content menu.
The SHOW HIERARCHY screen displays.
HIERARCHY – This shows the structure of the Web Pages and
menus. You can expand substructures by clicking on the plus sign
(+) and retract them by clicking on the minus (-) sign
MENUS - When you click on the down arrow, the page menu
appear, Add, Modify, Delete, Move and Preview Sections; Add,
Modify and Delete Content. You go also Duplicate Branch and use a
Direct Edit facility.
STATUS – This indicates the status of the section, Green indicates
the number of pages that are approved, Amber indicates how many
pages are awaiting approval, and Red indicates the number of pages that
are inactive.

4 Creating / Amending Sections (Menu Items)
Select the Section you wish to call the new section from. You can expand
substructures by clicking on the plus sign (+) and retract them by clicking on the
minus (-) sign. You can only create a section to 2 levels
4.1 Creating Sections
Click Add Sections from the menu of the section you wish to call it from,
The Add Section, Enter Details screen displays.
Enter or Select the following
Name – This is the name as it will be displayed on the menu
Output URI – This will be the actual URL for the page, if you leave it blank, the
URL will be same as the Name.
Show in Navigation? – Tick to show the section on the menu.
Make this a link section? - Tick to make the menu a link to another page.
Click Add to add the section

If you make it a link section you can either select an internal page or an external page.
Click the Details Tab. To select an internal link click Section and browse for the page
you want in Link Section.
To select an external link click External URL and type the full URL in Link URL.

4.2 Modifying Sections
Click Modify Section from the menu of the section you require,
The MODIFY SECTION, SHOW DETAILS displays.
Modify the fields you wish then click UPDATE.

5. Creating / Amending Content Select the Section you wish to call the new section from. You can expand substructures by clicking on the plus sign (+) and retract them by clicking on the minus (-) sign.
5.1 Adding Content
Click Add Content from the menu of the section you require.
The ADD CONTENT, CHOOSE TEMPLATE TO USE screen displays.
Select the template you require by clicking on the link you require. Please make sure
you select the correct template.

The ADD CONTENT, ENTER CONTENT DETAILS screen displays.
Copy the Details from the Section : into the Name * field.
Put your page title in the Title field.
In the Main Body enter the content of the page. See Section 6. Main Body Editor.
Click on ADD at the bottom of the page to save the page. Note the page still needs
Approving.
You can also preview the screen. Click on PREVIEW at the bottom of the screen, a
Preview Page will display.
5.2 Modifying Content
Click Modify Content from the menu of the section you require.

Click on MODIFY from the page menu.
The MODIFY CONTENT, UPDATE DETAILS screen displays.
Click on UPDATE at the bottom of the page to save the page. Note the page still needs Approving.
You can also preview the screen. Click on PREVIEW at the bottom of the screen, a
Preview Page will display.

6. Main Body Editor
The main editing icons are as follows
6.1 General Formatting
Bold This will make the text Bold
Italics This will make the text Italics
Underline This will make the text Underline
Undo Undo last action
Redo Redo last action
Numbers This will number the paragraphs
Bullets This will Bullet the paragraphs
Format Styles Choose from a selection of paragraph styles
Clear Contents Clear contents of the page
Remove All Formatting Clear contents of the page
Paste as plain text Paste text from other applications
Paste from Word Paste text from Word
Select All Select all items
Find Find text
Find/Replace Find and replace text
Spell Check Spell check your page

6.2 Insertions
Insert / edit link Insert & Edit a link to an external web page
Unlink Remove the link to the external webpage
Insert / edit anchor This will setup anchors on the page
Insert Section Link Insert Internal Web page
Insert Media Insert media from the media library
6.3 External Links
Typing the Web page or Email address - The simplest way to add an external link
or email address is just to type in the web address or email address in the edit area.
This will automatically make them links.
Using Insert/edit link – Type the text you want to be displayed, highlight it, and
then click on Insert External link button. Type the full address including the http://
into the Link URL field. You can change the Target to Open in new Window if
you want the link to open in a new window. Add the some text into the Title field.
The text will appear as yellow roll over text when you hover over the link. Click
Update when complete. The text will now be a link.
To remove the link click on the
Unlink button.

6.4 Anchors
Creating Anchor Names – Move the cursor to where you would like the anchor to be
placed and click on the Insert/ edit anchor icon. Type in the name you wish to
call the anchor in the Anchor name field, then click on Insert.
An anchor
symbol will
be displayed
at the point
where the
cursor was at.
To delete the anchor click on the anchor and press Delete
on the keyboard.
To link to the anchor type in some relevant text, highlight the text, and click on the
Insert/edit link icon. Find the required anchor name from the Anchor drop down
field. Click on Insert.

6.5 Internal Links
Type the text you want to be displayed, highlight it, and
then click on Insert Section link button. Browse for
the page you require from the list, click on the name of the
page. The text will now be a link.
6.6 Media Library
Move the cursor to where you would like the media to be placed and click on the
Insert Media icon. Browse for the file, and click on Select.

6.7 Tables
The table icons are as follows :-
Insert a new table Will let you insert a new table
Table row/cell properties Will update row / cell properties
Insert /Delete Rows Will insert / delete rows
Insert /Delete Columns Will insert / delete columns
Split / Merge cells Will let you split & merge cells
To insert a table move the cursor to where you would like the table to be placed and
click on the Insert a new table icon.
Enter the number of Columns /
Rows you require.
Select the Make first row /
column a header if you require
header rows and columns.
Click on Insert.

7 Upload Media
Any media, such as pictures, pdf’s and
documents must be uploaded to the media
library before it can be added to the relevant
web page.
Click the Content menu and select Media
Library.
Select the folder you require and right click on it.
Click on the menus to perform the following tasks
Add Sub-Catagory – This will add a
new folder within the folder that you
are currently on. Enter the name of
folder in the field in the pop-up
windows. Click OK.
Add New Media- This will add the
media to the media library. Add a
Name, and browse for the media using
the Browse button. Click Add when
complete. The Add Media button will
also let you add some media.

You can search, filter and change the view of the media library by click on the icons
on the top bar of the media library.
To delete media click on the detailed view and select the Delete icon. Confirm
that you want to delete the media.
If you need to update your media, click on the media and select the Modify icon.
Change the details you require or use the Browse button to update media. Click
Update when complete.

8. Approving Web Pages
Click on Approve Content from the Content menu.
Select the Approve tick box for the pages you wish to approve and click the Approve button.
9 Page History
To view the history of the page, select Modify Content from the
menu of that page.
Select History from the page
menu.

Version / Last Modified / Last Modified By– This shows information about the
version number, the date and time is was modified, and who it was modified by.
This will allow you to preview the previous versions of the page. This
will view in a Preview Page.
This will set a
previous page
active. When you click on set
active a Confirmation box is
displayed. Click OK to confirm
that you want this the most active
version. Note. The page will still
have to be approved.
You can also compare two versions from the history list. Tick on
the two versions you wish to compare and click on the Compare
Versions button.
Click on Normal Compare from the next screen that appears. This
will show a comparison window.

10 Updating Profile Details Click on your username at the top of the screen.
The Show User Details displays.
Update Password and Email Address then click on Update. Note the password has got to have at least 6 characters.
