Location: New Caledonia is an oceanic archipelago situated in the South-West Pacific. Situated 1,500km from Australia, only 2 hrs by airplane, New Caledonia has a diversified population of 250,000 inhabitants. There is no better place to experience the Pacific with a taste of France, where Melanesian tradition blends with French sophistication. The area is renowned for its beautiful landscapes, coral reef, flora and fauna.

Campuses: With about 3,000 students, the campus in Nouville only opened in February 2012 and offers students brand new facilities, student housing, restaurants etc. Nouville located not far away from downtown Nouméa.

Area of study: Business, Chemistry, Earth & Environmental Sciences, Economics, French, History, Law, Mathematics, Physics, Public Relations, Sociology

Language of Instruction: French – it is only possible for French language students to study at University of New Caledonia

Estimated living costs: Accommodation ranges from €200-€350 per month depending on the style. Estimated costs are roughly $10,000 - $15,000 for one semester; this may vary depending on your lifestyle. Foreign students residing in New Caledonia for more than 10 months are eligible for Territorial Accommodation Assistance (ALT – Aide au Logement Territoriale) which helps reduce the rental cost. Visa requirements: A student visa is required for a stay of more than three months, in order to enter the country (not for EU passport holders).
