*****PREAMBLE:

The University Grants Commission (UGC) through its order cited underreference (1) above has in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-Section (3) ofSection 22 of the UGC Act, 1956 and in supersession of all earlier GazetteNotifications pertaining to the matter. has specified the nomenclature of variousdegree courses.

The university has through decisions of respective Faculties and the AcademicCouncil changed the nomenclature of various degree courses offered under regularmode, as per the UGC specification.

Now, it is proposed to change the nomenclature of all Specialized Programmesto fall in line with the UGC specified nomenclature of degree courses. The Faculty ofconcerned programmes have already approved -the same and the consent of theAcademic Council is awaited.

It is observed that due to delay in holding of meetings of various statutorybodies of the University as a result of prevalence of election code of conduct, thestudents would be put to hardship. Hence, the meeting of Deans and statutory officersof the University held on 22.5.2018 recommended that the UGC specifiednomenclature be adopted immediately and marks cards and degree certificates be .issued accordingly to all Specialized Programmes.

Hence, this notification is issued.
