Dr.T.S.Devaraja, Professor of Commerce and former Director of Post Graduate
Centre, University of Mysore, Hassan, India. Currently serving as Finance Officer,
University Of Mysore, Mysore.He received his Master of Commerce Post Graduate
Degree and Ph.D., degree in Commerce from University of Mysore. Devaraja is the
Post Doctoral Fellow from the Corvinus University of Budapest, Hungary. He is DAAD
Fellow by India and Germany international collaborative project
- UGC- DAAD-PPP-2013. Dr. Devaraja worked with this collaborative project titled
“An Economic Evaluation of Multi Commodity Exchange in Marketing of
Carbon Credits in the framework of UNFCCC- Indian to Germany”, in
collaboration with Prof. Dr. Rüdiger Kiesel, Chairman, Faculty of Economics, Chair for
Energy Trading and Financial Services, University of Duisburg, Essen, Germany.
He is the lead collaborator for two international projects in the area of CDM and
carbon credits marketing. Devaraja is a visiting research and teaching fellow,
University of Presov, Faculty of Management, Presov, SLOVAKIA, (2009-
2010). He has 117 Citations with h-index of 7 and i10-index of 8. He has
visited Germany, Hungary, Egypt, Slovakia, Thailand, and Austria for collaborative
research programmes and to present research papers in international conferences.
Dr. Devaraja has collaborated with Prof. Dr. Rüdiger Kiesel, Chairman,
Faculty of Economics and Chair for Energy Trading and Financial Services,
University of Duisburg-Essen, Essen, GERMANY for the collaborative GIAN
course titled “Quantitative Climate Finance”. This course programme has

been promoted by Indian Institute of Technology; Karagpur and funded by
Global Initiative for Academic Networks (GIAN), Ministry of Human
Resource Development, Government of India. The issues of this course are;
Analysis CDM Projects, Climate Economics: Emission Scenarios, Abatement
Costs, Policy Instruments for Emission Reduction; The European Union –
Emission Trading System: Structural Models, Valuation of Certificates, Optimal
Climate Policy: Discounting, Uncertainty and Irreversibility, and Capital Markets
and Climate-friendly Investments: Instruments, Institutional Investors and
Carbon Credit Marketing.
Dr. Devaraja has completed five Major Research Projects UGC, ICSSR, Ministry of Statistics and
Programme Implementation, Govt. of India, UGC-DAAD, Kannada Development Authority, Govt.
of Karnataka, in the broad area of Commerce, Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) and Carbon
Credits Marketing and one more is in the pipeline. He has published more than 80 research
papers in the peer reviewed National and International Journals and written eight working
papers. He has written six books in the area of commerce, management, International Business
and Carbon Credits Marketing leading to current area of research. He is also the awardees of “Dr.
Ambedkar Fellowship National Award”, “Seva Chakra Puraskar National Award” “Rashtriya Vidya
Saraswati Puraskar Award”, for his contribution in Social Science Research.
Dr. Devaraja is an editorial board member for 26 international and national peer reviewed
journals. And advisory board member for 102 National and International level
seminar/conferences. Dr. Devaraja has organised four National Level Seminars in his
specialised areas. He has presented number of research papers in National and International
Conferences and chaired Four sessions in the international seminars held at Bangkok, Thailand
and Cairo, Egypt. Eight research scholars have completed PhD, under his able guidance and four
scholars are currently working. Dr. Devaraja is an active member in various professional research
and academic organisations and these organisations are policy making organisations.
Research Focus
Broad Area: Business and Management: International business, International Marketing,
Clean Development Mechanism, Financial Management, Accounting and Auditing, Carbon Credit
Marketing, Foreign Exchange Management, and National Climate Policy of India.
