About the University

The University of Hyderabad (UoH), one of the major institutions of higher education

About the School

The School of Management Studies (SMS), sanctioned by the UGC, commenced

functioning from May, 1999. It offers three full-time residential MBA Programmes i.e.,

MBA, MBA (HC&HM) and MBA (Business Analytics) and a Ph.D. Programme in

Management Studies. Recently, it has started week end executive MBA programme for

working corporate executives. It promotes faculty and doctoral research, consultancy,

training and outreach activities in various manufacturing, corporate, infrastructural,

services and developmental sectors.

About the Workshop

Multivariate data analysis is a prerequisite for business analytics.

Irrespective of the AI/ML tools used in today’s business analytics domain,

someone needs to acquire in-depth knowledge about multivariate data

analysis techniques. Looking at the growing demand for business analytics

tools and techniques, the workshop has been proposed to fulfill the

requirement of the scholars, faculties and industrial analysts to equip

them with necessary intellectual inputs facing the analytics revolution. As

everyone is not expected to have learnt statistics beforehand we propose

to arrange additional training to such participants on various areas of

basic statistics and its application. Hence, in the process, we propose six

days of training, including a day to be spent on basic statistics training.

In addition to theoretical and lab classes, adequate provision will be made for hands-on experience to the participants.

Schedule is flexible, may add/remove topic/s looking at the demand of the participants.

Prof. G. V. R. K. Acharyulu (Operations and Quantitative Methods)

Dr. Acharyulu is a Professor in Operations & Supply Chain Management,

Coordinator- MBA (Healthcare & Hospital Management) at the School of

Management Studies, University of Hyderabad. He did his Bachelors in

Chemical Engineering from Andhra University, Maters from NIT-Warangal.

He holds his MBA degree (Marketing &Finance) from Osmania University

and Ph.D in Supply Chain Management from the same University. He has

19 years of experience in teaching in management subjects like Operations

and Quantitative Techniques, Supply Chain Management, Research

Methodology, Information Systems, Hospital Management and 10 years of

industry experience in Operations and Materials divisions at Sponge Iron

India Limited, A Government of India Enterprise. He has published 20

research papers in National and 22 in International Journals in the area of

Operations, Supply Chain and Healthcare Management. He was visiting

faculty at Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Bangkok, Thailand for

teaching Logistics Management during January – April 2014 under MHRD,

Government of India deputation. He is also serving as the Vice President,

ISDSI (Indian Subcontinent Decision Science Institute) - Conferences &

Programs, India since 2014. He is the recipient of AIMS (Association of

Indian Management Schools) – ICFAI Best Teacher Award – 2017 at the 29th

AIMS Annual Management Education Convention, organized by the

Department of Management Sciences (PUMBA), Savitribai Phule Pune

University, Pune, India.

Prof. B. Raja Shekhar (Operations and Quantitative Methods)

Prof. Raja Shekhar has a commendable track record in the field of higher

education as an academician and academic administrator. Prof. Shekhar

authored and edited books in the areas of Consumer Protection, Supply Chain

Management and Quality Management. He has published about 75 research

papers in reputed International and National Journals. His primary areas of

interests include Service Quality, Quantitative Techniques, Operations

Management and Business Analytics. He is a board member of several

central/state universities and institutions in the country. Prof. Raja Shekhar has

actively participated in Leadership for Academicians Programme (LEAP) of

MHRD, Govt. of India, aiming at nurturing future leaders of academic institutions,

at IIT Kanpur and shortly visited Monash University, Australia for additional

training. Prof. Raja Shekhar has aptly launched “Research Methodology” and

“Data Analysis for Social Science Teachers” courses on the SWAYAM platform of

MHRD, Govt. of India which is gaining popularity day by day among research

scholars of various disciplines. Currently, he is working as a Professor at School

of Management Studies, University of Hyderabad and Pro-VC (2) of University of

Hyderabad.

Dr. Pramod K. Mishra (Operations and Quantitative Methods)

Dr. Mishra has completed his Ph.D in Management from University of

Hyderabad. Prior to his Ph.D he has done his M.Sc (Appl. Maths) from NIT

Rourkela and MBA from Biju Patnaik University of Technology, Odisha. He has

worked at IIM Bangalore as a Post Doctoral Research Fellow for about three years

subsequent to his Ph.D. His primary research and teaching interests are in the

field of Operations and Supply Chain Management, Operational and Supply Chain

Analytics and Mathematical Modelling. He has published a few papers in national

and international journals and presented papers in national and international

conferences in India and abroad. Delivered talks/lectures in several institutes in

India on Statistical & Mathematical Methods and Operations & Supply Chain

Analytics. Dr. Mishra delivered talks and developed course contents in “Data

Analysis for Social Science Teachers” course launched by Prof. Raja Shekhar on

SWAYAM platform of MHRD, Govt. of India. Currently, Dr. Mishra is working as

an Asst. Professor at School of Management Studies, University of Hyderabad.

Dr. D. V. Srinivas Kumar (Marketing and Business Analytics)

Dr. D. Venkata Srinivas Kumar is a B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from

Nagarjuna University, MBA from Andhra University and Ph.D. in

Management from University of Hyderabad. His interest areas are

Customer Experience Management, Social Media Marketing and Business

Analytics, particularly Predictive Analytics using R. He has published

papers in various national and international journals of repute. Dr.

Srinivas delivered talks and developed course contents in “Data Analysis

for Social Science Teachers” course launched by Prof. Raja Shekhar on

SWAYAM platform of MHRD, Govt. of India. Currently, Dr. Srinivas is
