‘Prevent’ is about stepping in to protect vulnerable people at risk of being recruited by terrorist or extremist groups, and becoming radicalised. People may be vulnerable for different reasons, and demonstrate troubling and unusual behaviour.
If you are concerned about anyone that you know, just follow these simple rules:
Notice – Recognise changes in their behaviour or appearance that concern youCheck – Speak with someone you trust like a tutor and see what they recommend but trust your instinct if you are still concernedShare – Report your concerns to your Progress Manager, Head of Division or Alex Scott. Remember trust your instinct.
The smoking area is moving
As from Monday 20th April, the smoking area will be located at the other side of the
College to outside the main entrance to ‘E’ Block – where the bicycle shed is at the moment
This is because the Highwood Nursery is relocating to the BEC on the main College site, which will create some exciting opportunities for collaboration between the children and students. An outside
playground is being created for the toddlers and children, and as they clearly need a safe and healthy environment in which to learn, play and develop, the smoking area has to be relocated.
