Lorena
Located in the Paraíba River Valley, the town is almost
equidistant from São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro and
has excellent transport links. Its population is around
88,000 people*, out of which approximately 5,000
are students. After a period of predominant coffee
production and livestock-related activities, Lorena has
become industrialized and has taken its place as one
of the Valley’s most important economic centers.
In this town where technology blends with history,
Universidade de São Paulo has found a fertile terrain for
education and research.

How to reach Lorena?From São Paulo International Airport (GRU), take the
Airport Bus Service line to “Tietê”. At the Tietê Bus
Terminal, take an intercity bus to Lorena (tickets are
sold at the “Cometa” company counter). Check out the
