I t would be im p o ss ib le , f o r exam ple, f o r th e U n ited S ta te s to be fe d e ra te d w ith a n a t io n th a t makes th e a u th o r i ty o f a d i c t a t o r suprem e, when i t s a u th o r i ty i s v e s te d in in d iv id u a l l i b e r t y and i n i t i a t i v e . But where m a te r i a l i t y governs th e minds o f m a te r ia l l e a d e r s ,a s i t must a t th e end o f m o r t a l i ty , a l l a tte m p t a t F e d e ra tio n o r Union i s p rem ised to s e l - f i s h n e s s and an a tte m p t to th w a rt th e grow th o f th e m ost advancing n a t io n s . T h e re fo re , s e l f i s h n a t io n s would h o ld o th e rs b ack , l e s t th e y lo s e t h e i r power and p r e s t i g e and be e c l ip s e d by a n o th e r n a t io n . T h is i s th e s p i r i t o f England tow ard th e U n ited S ta te s in a t te m p tin g to s u b o rd in a te t h i s n a t io n to th e B r i t i s h Em pire, and to make i t one o f th e p ro v in c e s . Je a lo u sy i s no b a s is f o r harm ony, bu t w i l l alw ays b e p rom otive o f woe and d e s t r u c t io n . U n t i l a p eo p le a re u n i te d in a n a t io n th e y a re n o t ready to b e u n i t ­ed w ith any o th e r n a t io n ; and even th e n N a tio n a lism must alw ays su p e rse d e th e s p i r i t o f in te r n a t io n a l i s m o r u n i ty w ith o th e r n a t io n s . Every c i t i z e n o f a n a t io n sh o u ld be a n a t io n a l . The N a tio n a lism o f th e U nited s t a t ­e s h as n e v e r been d e c la re d . 'When i t i s , th e re w i l l n o t be P o le s , Bohem ians, Germans, I r i s h , Jews e t c ; b u t A m ericans. I t i s ab su rd f o r groups o f p eo p le from o th e r n a t io n s to a r i s e in t h i s n a t io n in a l le g ia n c e to some European n a t io n , though t h i s has been to l e r a te d in m a te r i a l i t y o f governm ent. But th e lo y a l c i t i z e n s from o th e r n a t io n s d i -v o rc e th em se lv es from a l le g ia n c e to th e n a t io n s o f t h e i r b i r t h when th ey become n a t ­u r a l i z e d . T his i s th e way i t shou ld b e . The o th e rs a re n o t n a t io n a l s , though th e y nay l i v e in ou r m id s t. One may b e a r a l le g ia n c e to p a re n ts a f t e r b u i ld in g a fam ily o f h i s own, b u t to b e a r a l le g ia n c e to o th e r n a t io n s in which one was b o rn , w h ile d e c la r ­in g a l le g ia n c e to th e adop ted n a t io n , i s n o t c h a r a c t e r i s t i c o f good c i t i z e n s h i p . Those who c o n t ro l th e w o rld , s e e in g power in c o o rd in a t io n , seek to u n i te n a t io n s in w hich th e y can b e s t p r o te c t t h e i r f in a n c ia l i n t e r e s t s . Such i s th e id e a th a t i s back o f Union o f th e U nited S ta te s w ith G reat B r i t a in . Both n a t io n s r e s t up­on th e Jew ish c o n t ro l le d c a p i t a l i s t i c system o f f in a n c e , th e r e f o r e t h e i r un ion would be d e s i r a b le as a means o f p r o te c t in g t h i s sy stem , now th a t p a r t o f th e w orld i s de­te rm in ed to overth row i t , (even i f th e y do n o t have a n y th in g b e t t e r worked ou t in r e ­l a t i o n to o th e r n a t io n s ) . Are th ey v o ted t h i s power and a u th o r i ty by th e p eo p le who e l e c t r e p r e s e n ta t io n to s ta n d by th e C o n s t i tu t io n , and who p u rp o se ly v io l a te i t s t e n e t s , e n a c tin g laws and l e g i s l a t i o n c o n tra ry to i t s p ro v is io n s ? Are th e p eop le r e p re s e n te d by such a c t i v i t i e s ? They a re n o t . They a re d is re g a rd e d and t r e a te d as though th ey have no p a r t in governm ent. When th e s e r e v o lu t io n i s t s g a in con­t r o l , b o th f in a n c ia l ly and p o l i t i c a l l y , as th e y can do, how can th e p eo p le re c la im t h e i r governm ent, and how can government r e v e r t to th e o r ig i n a l form?
