Area

Conversions for area can be a little tricky: In converting areas, it is critical to either use area to area conversions or to multiply by the length conversion factor twice

Example: How many square feet are in one square meter?

Equivalents: 1 m2 = 10.76 ft2 1 ft = 0.3048 m

Correct:1[m2] * 10.76 [ft2/m2] = 10.76 [ft2](1 m)2 * (1 [ft]/0.3048[m])2 = 10.76 [ft2]

Incorrect:1[m2] * 1 [ft]/0.3048[m] = 3.28 [ft-m]
