About this Guide

This Resource Guide was developed for you, your family and friends. It details services provided by organizations in southwestern Pennsylvania that assist individuals providing help to adults and children. It also lists organizations that can help the person who is providing the care. Caregiving can be a time consuming and sometimes stressful situation. This Guide is meant to give you ideas and suggestions as to where you can get help from those who can understand what you are experiencing. If you have any questions about where to turn, please e-mail us at [email protected]. This guide was last revised on 1/21/03.

Good Places to Start

This is a caregivers’ express list of organizations that can help or direct you to the specific agency that can assist. They have knowledgeable staff who have access to information and are familiar with the other resources in the community. These organizations are good places to start when you are not exactly sure what you need or what might be available. Some of the help is just for you and some is for your loved one.
