Condensation Control - AntiCon
Benefits of AntiCon• Holds condensate
safely until it
evaporates.
• Prevents condensate
dripping from theunderside of the roof.
• Slows the formation of
condensate byinsulating the sheeting.
• Fire Classification
A2-s1,d0.
• Anticon has good
resistance to mostacids, hydroxides andsulphides and does notsupport the growth ofbacteria or mould.
• If necessary, Anticon
can be cleaned bypressure washing withwater.
AntiCon condensation control
Anticon is a fleece designed to reducethe risk of damage from dripping orrunning condensate on un-insulatedsingle skin metal roofs in buildings withmoderate to high humidity levels andlow ventilation.
Condensation is controlled by Anticonin an environment where condensationoccurs cyclically. It does not preventcondensation and is damp to the touchwhen functioning. For the fleece towork properly the building has to beadequately ventilated to allow thematerial to dry out between the cycles.
Anticon is suitable for use on roofs atall pitches of 5˚ and above; moremoisture is retained at lower pitchesand therefore endlap treatment isrequired for roofs between a 5 - 10˚pitch.
The Anticon fleece absorbs and holdscondensate until it can evaporate, whilst slowing its formation byinsulating the sheeting and preventingdripping from the underside of the roof.
Condensation
When warm, moist air within a buildingcomes into contact with cold surfacesthere is a risk of condensation as the aircools and is unable to support the sameamount of moisture. This commonlyoccurs on the underside of roofs in un-insulated single-skin metalbuildings during the winter, and also onclear nights when night sky radiationsubstantially lowers the temperature ofthe roof surface.
Condensation can run down the roofand collect on or within the buildingfabric where it will cause rust, rot ordamage to fittings, or may drip fromthe roof.

Insulated twin skin and over roofing systems
06 | United Roofing Products
URP offer twin skin and overroofing systems utilising steelprofiled sheets and steel barand bracket spacing system tocreate a roof void of variousdepths, which can be filledwith insulation to create aninsulated roof. There byeliminating any condensationand creating a thermally andacoustically efficient roof orwall covering.
Spacing system
The spacing system comprisesof a roll formed steel bar andinterlocking brackets, whichassemble without therequirement for fasteners toform a grid. This methodresults in a light weight yetvery strong, rapidly installedand cost-effective sheeting railthat is elevated to the requiredheight by the bracket.
The brackets range in height tocreate varying depth voids andcreate solutions for a hugerange of various thermal, acoustic and fire resistancecriteria. The bracket’s narrowbase allows the system to befixed into the valley of the lineror existing roof profile, eventhose that are sinusoidal andfibre cement. This transfers theweight of the new roofcladding system directly ontothe existing substructure ofthe roof.
Twin skin
URP manufactures a range of boxprofile sheets that can be incorporatedinto roof and wall twin skin systems. These systems generally comprise of aninternal lining sheet, spacing system, insulation and a box profile top sheet(see page 4). Various depths, insulationtypes and configurations can be used toachieve the required specification fornearly all applications.
URP’s unique position as amanufacturer but also major distributerof all metal sheeting and claddingproducts gives us access to all thetechnical knowhow and the full rangeof materials to offer solutions to allbuilding envelope scenarios. Includingrooflighting, high performing fire wallsystems, structural roof decks, acousticsystem, aluminium standing seam andsecret-fix systems as well as thediversely flexible and cost effective boxprofile twin skin system.
Over roof
The spacing system comes into its ownin the refurbishment market. Whetheryou have a leaking roof, wish to increasethe thermal & acoustic performance ofyour roof or wall, or simply improve theaesthetics of your property the spacingsystem offers quick cost effectivesolutions. Simply assemble the bar andbracket to replicate the substructurebeneath the existing weather sheet, fixthe bar and bracket system using theappropriate fasters leaving the existingcovering in place, insulate if desired andfix the new weather sheet. This solutionquickly and cost effectively transformsthe appearance and performance ofexisting buildings.
URP can produce thermal and acousticcalculations, offer a range of fire wallsystems and provide solutions foraggressive environments.

Insulated composite roof and wall systems
URP offer a wide range of LPCBinsurance certificate approvedPolyisocyanurate core (PIR) and mineralwool panels designed to suit all roofand wall applications.
Composite panels consist of a core ofhigh density PIR or mineral woolinsulation sandwiched between anexternal weather sheet and an internalliner sheet.
The composite panel offers anextremely quick and thermally efficientsolution for the building envelope. There are significant benefits to usingcomposite panels in regards to makingcost and time savings during theschedule of the build. The products gothrough rigorous testing to ensure theirthermal, structural and air leakageperformance over the course of theirlifetime.
You can have peace of mind if youchoose composite panel as the systemscome with a 25 year warranty andcoating warranties of up to 40 years. You must register the building with themanufacturer on completion of thebuild.
In regards to fire performance, there arepanels available to meet moststipulations that building controlspecify for either boundary wall orinternal partition application.
Micro-rib wall panel dimensions
1000mm
As standard the roof panels come with a0.5mm Plastisol coated trapezoidal boxprofile weather sheet and a very shallowribbed 0.4mm Polyester white liner. There are insulations available in a range of depths from 40mm up to 150mm, with a cover width of 1m, cut to your specified lengths of up to 12m onstandard transport (29.3m max length). Short sheets may be subject to a surcharge. There are a wide range ofalternative coatings, liner and profilesavailable on request.
The standard roof panels provide themost cost effective option for verticalcladding. Alternatively there is aperpetually expanding range ofarchitectural wall panel systems, available to suit the growing demand formodern design solutions that won'tbreak your budget

Light and Ventilation in farm buildings
With the ever increasing focuson animal welfare inagriculture and the benefitsthat good natural light andventilation brings to livestock,URP are focused on developingsystems that improve theperformance of agriculturalbuildings in these respects. This improved performanceparticularly in the case ofventilation has been shown toreduce vets bills and increaseproductivity of the livestock.
Ventridge - Open ProtectedRidge System
The Ventridge ventilating metal ridgesystem is designed to improve theventilation of livestock buildings whilstinhibiting weather ingress. Often usedin conjunction with ventilated cladding, the system provides an excellentenvironment for all livestock, improvinganimal well-being and productivity.
The Ventridge system can beincorporated into the design of newbuildings; it can be easily andeconomically retro-fitted to existingroofs. The minimum recommendedpitch is 8˚.
Perforated Upstand Ridge
This simple solution consists of aperforated “mini-zed” upstand fixed tothe crown of your profiled sheets, towhich a ridge capping is then installed. This system provides more protectionfrom the elements where lower levelsof airflow are required at the ridgeline.
