Press Clipping Radio Highlights 72 articles were published in the Brazilian media about the United Nations World Water Development Report 2017 – Wastewater: The Untapped Resource. Products and activities Public Information

Media Advisory The Unit of Communications, Public Information and Publications (UCIP) at UNESCO in Brazil produced a Media Advisory about the launch of WWDR in Latin America and the Caribbean, which took place in Brazil. The media advisory was based on the press release produced by the WWAP team and sent to almost 900 press contacts in Brazil.

Embargo to the press The embargoed report was offered to the 15 main media outlets in Brazil, which are TV Globo, TV Brasil, SBT, TV Band, TV Record, CBN, BandNews, Agência Brasil, G1, Uol, Valor Econômico, O Estado de São Paulo, O Globo, Correio Braziliense. We also tried to contact Folha de S. Paulo and TV Justiça, but with no success. After the launch, UCIP was able to reach TV Justiça and ask them to produce a special about the report for its TV show on Environment. They are still analyzing the proposal. From this effort, five media outlets requested interviews: O Globo , CBN, O Estado de São Paulo , Correio Braziliense and Valor Econômico.

Director-General Message The director-general’s message on the World Water Day was translated into Portuguese and posted at UNESCO in Brazil’s website.

Press Release The press release written by WWAP team was translated into Portuguese, posted at UNESCO in Brazil’s website and sent to over 900 press contacts in Brazil.

During the event For the Latin America and the Caribbean launch event, UCIP team organized a press kit with the Executive Summary, the Chapter 13, the Press Release and the Main Messages that were also translated into Portuguese. From the event, UCIP produced live tweets for UNESCO in Brazil twitter account.

Op-Ed An opinion piece was written by the Officer of Environment of UNESCO in Brazil, Massimiliano Lombardo, proofread by UCIP’s team and offered to the website of Museu do Amanhã (Museum of Tomorrow) - a Brazilian Museum that has been gathering articles from well-known specialists of sustainable development. They will publish it on their website in 12 April, 2017 and it might become a piece of a digital book they are producing annually about sustainable development. After they publish on their website, UCIP will send it to other media outlets and also publish it at UNESCO in Brazil website.

Web editorial Special page on UNESCO in Brazil website Besides all press and other materials posted at UNESCO in Brazil’s website, the page about WWDR 2017 at UNESCO in Brazil website was created with the report’s information and links for the materials.
