United in Automation

… this is what we at TÜNKERS have been for precisely 50 years. It allstarted with various automation solutions designed for different industries. In the 70ies, the patented toggle clamp replaced the vice andthe manual clamp. At the beginning of the 90ies the focus was on productswithin the field of robotic technology, such as end-effectors, forming technology and finally conveying technology which completed theTÜNKERS product range as automation modules and accompanied thebreakthrough in automation technology of high volume production. Seeingthat even in low-wage countries automation characterises today’s production processes, it becomes clear that automatic units are not justjob killers but also a necessary tool for assuring quality of high value.

However, automation must be much more than simply automated nowadays. Automation must be green, automation must be operator-safein accordance with the new machinery directives and hyper-flexible for thenew plants.

These topics will be revisited on the occasion of the 2012 symposium,where we will be presenting new products and solutions with regard to thenew automation requirements.
