Josh’s Idea• One of my ideas is to host an exchange of something, whether it be books,

other people’s possessions, knowledge or something like this.

• The Exhibition would work best outside the John Ryland Library so people can make comparisons to the exhibition and the library.

• To promote the event I would get myself and others to make flyers and advertise them around the Town Centre. Additionally I would make posts on the internet to get the word out of what we’re doing.

• The Exhibition would be documented by us media students and made into a film, from start to finish, to establish how things were set up and what the outcome of the event was.

Maria’s Idea• For the fine art students to group together as a 3 and make a sculpture.

The final piece could either be ONE sculpture or a couple and could consist of books/newspapers/leaflets about the library. Or the sculptures could be simply the 'look' of the library and can be painted to the style if possible

• As a film and media student (along with one other member) we can film every step of the sculpture creation. From during out plans, collecting papers ect, drawing up ideas, making the sculpture and all the final touches.

• Our final piece can then be the sculpture(s) and a film, this enables us to have a film for our public to watch and a final piece that they understand how it was produced.

Teo’s Idea• The vertical lines and tall structures

gave me the idea of a snakes and ladder board game. I want to engage the public, and make something they can interact with.

• I want it to be on a large scale to draw the public in and to remind them of their childhood. The piece should be able to be moved and played around with by the public. Also engage them enough to add their own contribution to the installation.

• Here is a sketch of a possible instillation in which the blocks would be cardboard boxes painted and interchangeable. The piece would be constantly changing throughout the event and there is possible scope for the public to also add their own boxes and piece together their own wall.
