This search began on a broad front at the
end of the 1960s.
The newer spinning systems developed since
then include rotor spinning, air-jet spinning, friction spinning, vortex spinning,
electrostatic spinning, core spinning, wrap
spinning, twistless spinning and others.

The structures of yarn obtained from thesesystems are also different and vary in manyaspects.
The ring yarns have helical structure andeven twist distribution, but sometimes therecan be problem in ring spun yarn related totwist liveliness and migration of fibres insideyarn.
For improving these aspect new structurescame into picture, which are different fromring spun yarn structure and these structureswill also behave differently in fabric stages

Open end spinning is also known as break spinning orfree fibre spinning.
In this process the fibrous material is highly draftedto separate out the individual fibres.
The individual fibres are subsequently collected ontothe open end of the yarn.
This is rotated to twist the fibre into the yarnstructure to form a continuous strand of yarn. This iswound onto a bobbin to form the yarn package

Yarn manufacture using the air jet primarily
produces fascinated yarns using the false
twist principle.
Hence, we discuss about the principle offalse twisting before going into actual air jet
spinning.
