Unit 9 : Spreadsheet
Development
Assignment 3
By Sarah Ameer
22/03/2017
Introduction
In this document, i will be writing about my final spreadsheet. I will be testing it, using
the test plan i have created in assignment 2 and also i will describe the
improvements that are needed from the feedback given to me from one student and
my tutor. As Well as describing where in the spreadsheet i have used automation.
Task 1 : Creating your spreadsheet
Original Spreadsheet:
Here is my original spreadsheet that i will test against the user requirements

Written Commentary:
Here down below are 5 worksheets that have been used to help the football club
keep track of tickets. It will be describing the data entry fields and what all the
columns are used for.
This worksheet contains hyperlinks so that there is a way of reaching other pages so
that , you don’t have to individually go through the worksheets one by one. Also this
is more convenient and faster way to access the worksheets. I have created these
hyperlinks by using the URL’s of the worksheets that i created on google sheets.
The ticket holder details contains various data types and also has conditional
processing, this is used when a rule is placed and also this is used to change the
colour of the cell as well as the text. A drop down menu has been used. This is
normally used to put in options, from which you can select one of them. Also there
has been a nested IF statement used in 2 of the columns, one for ticket price and
one for the ticket count. This is when you have more than one IF statement in one
formula. This worksheet contains mostly details needed for a person to purchase a
ticket.
This spreadsheet is used for ticket details, this is so that tickets can be purchased
and how many can be purchased. In all of the columns i have formatted them to the
correct type and also there are 2 detailed images which show the seating area of the
stadium i have chosen as well as the ticket prices images, to help me calculate a
ticket according to the person’s age. The format that has been used is plain text,
number and currency. This is so that the correct data is typed in each column.
This worksheet is used to calculate the sales and number of tickets sold. This is a
much better of way of keeping track and also this doesnt waste time when the
manager is sorting out financial details. It is saves time and is more efficient. To
calculate both of these 2 cells I have taken the total sales from the ticket holders
detail worksheet, as well as the number of ticket solds. This is most helpful because
if the ticket holder's details worksheet is constantly changed and updated, this
automatically this worksheet will update as well. So therefore saves time by inputting
the values in manually.
This worksheet is the data worksheet. This is where all the personal details of a
customer is kept. This is so that the club won't face any issues according to
miscommunication. Also i have formatted the cells with the correct data type. Also
this contains the unique ticket code given to eac customer, which helps keep track of
tickets given. Also i have a table, where it displays each ticket type and how many
tickets are bought of that type. This outcome of this is represented in the chart down
below, which shows which tickets are most popular amongst the public and also
increase the prices of those to gain more profit.
Examples of Output: summary Worksheet and data worksheet.
Comment [1]: capital 'I' always
This here is an output of the data worksheet. This is created so that it shows the
popularity of the tickets, this helps as the greater percentage of tickets helps the
football club gain more profit. Up here it shows that Anfield Road Lower Main Stand,
has a higher percentage. This shows more people like to watch the game from that
side of the stadium. To the left it also shows another output, but is shown in a line
graph, this shows the application date. This shows when tickets are mostly bought. It
shows that most tickets are bought closer to when a seasons stars or when a game
will happen in the next couple of days. This is used so that can get more staff on
hand to help when the ticket gets busy with people wanting to watch the game live in
their stadium.
This is also an output, this is used to help the manager keep track of all the sales
and tickets sold. This is used so that the manager can see if the is a rise in sales and
Comment [2]: Very good Sarah
tickets. I have taken the total cost and total tickets, from the ticket holder's details
worksheet, this is used so that it automatically calculates the cost and the tickets
sold. Overall , the output of this looks more professional and more efficient.
Task 2 : Testing and refining your spreadsheet
Tested Spreadsheet:

Test Plan:
This is my test plan with my data which will be tested against the spreadsheet.
Test Number Test Expected Outcome Outcome
1 Will the Hyperlinks work on the menu page?
They will not display error
The hyperlinks work on the menu page
2 Do the Hyperlinks take you to the correct worksheet?
It will take me to the correct worksheet that i have chosen.
Yes, it work as it intended it to.
3 Does the drop down menu for the ticket holder's details worksheet allow you to change the ticket type?
It will allow me to change the ticket type.
Yes, it has various tickets, which i can select from.
4 Does the price of the tickets change when an if statement has been put in, so that when a certain ticket type is chosen, it will choose the price that has been allocated for the ticket type?
The price will change to show that the IF statement works and contains no errors.
Yes, the ticket type changes, so therefore the price changes as well to match the correct one.
5 Will conditional formatting work when an if
This will take place if there is a rule inputted into one of

the fields.
6 Will the if statement use the prices from the season ticket type details worksheet to allocate with each of the tickets?
The prices will come from the season ticket type worksheet
Yes, they work as the correct names are have been given.
7 Will an =SUM function work when inputted into the ticket holder detail worksheet, to calculate the ticket costs?
Yes, as it will show me a value bigger than the ticket prices.
Yes this works and will automatically update, if a cell in the column has been updated.
Test Data Table:
Here is my test data table, which will be used to test questions in my test plan,
according to this this will help me use certain elements in my spreadsheet to
show automation.
Improvements: Feedback From Ashraf Hamid.
Comment [3]: Excellent evidence of testing Sarah
One of my feedbacks was to make the title bolder and more bigger as well as
being, enlarged and aligned in the middle.
Here the menu title looks very small and the user/employee may not be able to
see it clearly.
Here i have enlarged the title to a bigger font size as well as the title merged
and centered.
Another one was that in my ticket holders detail was that it needed to be
aligned in the middle.
Here it shows that it is aligned to the left of the spreadsheet, which looks
unprofessional.
Here it shows that i have aligned it in the centered and merged the cells of the
entire row.
One of columns are not aligned properly: Age Restrictions
In the age restrictions column, the format of this is not aligned in the centre
and looks untidy.
In the age restrictions column, i have aligned in the centre and middle. This
shows professionalism and looks tidy.
Another one was that i had not calculated the overall price for all of the ticket
types.
Over here in the price column, i did not include an overall price for all the ticket
types.
Here i have used the sum function to calculate the price of the cells, B4 to B9
In this worksheet. I have not processed this cell.
In this worksheet, i have manually entered in the value of the ticket holders
detail worksheet, rather that doing a calculation.
Over here i have added in calculation, which states that every time the cell in
the ticket holders detail worksheet is updated, so will this cell, so that it
contains the right value.
Feedback from tutor:
Menu Worksheet: The titles of my hyperlinks need to be bigger, also in the title i
need to include the team name in the title.
This does not look very professional and the titles are too small to read.
This is is much better, as the titles are clear to see and match the size of the
title of the menu.
Ticket Holders Detail Worksheet: The columns need to be spaced a bit more
smaller to see all of the columns.
As you can see most of my columns are too spaced out are i can not see the whole
worksheet, which makes it look like i crammed all the information in so that it
contains everything needed.
As you can see, i have made the columns a bit more smaller and therefore i can see
all the information without having to slide my cursor around.
Season Ticket Type Details: A border is needed for the total and also a title for the
total cost. Also add information into the worksheet to look complete.
As you can see, i have not included a border around the totals and also i have to
complete filling in the table.
Here i have added a total and change the colour to blue, so that it stands out, also if
one of the cells change in the column, so will the total. I have also filled in the no of
seats, available and also the comments section.
Summary Of Information: Also I need to make the titles bigger, and also aligned in
the centre, to look professional.
Here you can see, this is one of my outputs and this does not look very neat. Also i
need align my titles correctly and also show my out put more appropriately.
Here this looks way more professional and is easy to see as it is bigger, which most
users will love.
Data: Lose some columns so that the graphs can be seen in the worksheet and that
you don't have to zoom in.
Comment [4]: Much better ;-)
Here as you can see i have 2 columns which don’t look professional and are
blocking me from see everything on the spreadsheet.
Over here, you can see this looks more professional and is very tidy.
Automation: where has it been used?
Ticket Holders Details Worksheet: i have used a drop down menu for my ticket
types, this has been used as it is much easier than manually typing in each ticket,
this also saves time. Also this drop down menu contains a nested IF statement,
which means it contains more than one if statement, this is used so that when i
select a ticket type, the price will automatically change according to the ticket type
chosen. Secondly i have used conditionally formatting in 1 of my columns, e.g. one
for the application being successful. For the application being successful, i placed a
rule, which states that if the cell contains yes then automatically change the colour to
green and if the cell contains no the turn it red. This is used so that it indicates
whether it the application has gone through. For the ticket count i used a nested IF
statement, which states that if the cell of the application column is yes the place a 1
in the ticket count cell and if a no the place a 0.
Summary Of Information Worksheet: In this worksheet, i have used an = sum
function where it uses the cell of the ticket holders worksheet and copies it into the
cell of this worksheet. This is because this worksheet is one of the outputs of my
spreadsheet, so therefore if the cell of ticket holders worksheet is updated so will the
cell of this worksheet too.
Season Ticket Types Worksheet: the automation used in here is an =Sum
function, this is used to calculate the total cost of all the ticket types.
Data Worksheet : how the graphs were created and what they are used for?
In the data worksheet, i have created graphs, these are the outputs of my
spreadsheet. These are used for number of each ticket bought and the application
date on when they were bought. These were created so that the club could track
when the sales are going to become higher at what period of time and that which
ticket encounters the most sales.
Task 3: Digital Portfolio
In my Digital Portfolio, i am going to include this assignment on my Unit 9 Page. I will
also change the format of this document to a pdf, therefore no one can change or
edit it. I will also put the rest of the assignments as i feel all of them show my hard
work and capabilities. In between each of the assignments, i will give a brief
overview of what they are showcasing and on the page there will include an image to
look professional and also more easier to understand. .
