    Data is put in secondarystorage (storage) forsafekeeping or lateruse.

    computer. Itcontains the maincomponents includingthe motherboard,

    processor, memoryand graphics card.

    A power supply unit (PSU) is the componentthat supplies power to a computer.

    The Hard Disk Consists of one or more rigid metal platterscoated with a metal oxide material that allows data to be

    recorded magnetically on the surface of the platters.

    Compact Disc (CD), alsocalled optical discs are

    available in variety offormats.CD-ROMs : compact discread-only memory. Use laser

    technology for storing text,graphics, audio, video. You canonly read the contents of thedisc, but cannot erase ormodify their contents.

    oStorage devices:

    CD-R, compact disc-recordable,allows you to write contents on it

    only one time.CD-RW, compact disc-rewritable, allows you to writecontents on it multiple times.

    DVD-ROMs : digital video disc-ROM. High capacity compact disccapable of storing large amountsof text and videos. Storagecapacity ranges from 4.7 GB to 17GB.
