Introduction
In this presentation, I will develop different types of activities to be done in a lesson of 5th grade. It will be focused on Unit 2: My house and my family. This is a 90-minutes lesson.

Learning Objectives
Students will be able to:- Identify objects and items of furniture of a
house- Classify those objects into the different
parts of the house- Prepare a paragraph for a speaking
assessment to be presented next lesson.- Time: 10 mins
Pre- Activity 1
The teacher will display some flashcards with new vocabulary on items of Furniture.
Aids: Flashcards.
Time: 10 mins
While-activity 1 Students will complete a worksheet taken
from www.englishforeveryone.org , in which, they will have to match words with pictures of items of furniture.
Then, they will group words in a specific category. They have to do this activity in their exercise books.
Aids: Worksheet. Time: 15 mins
While-activity 1 Word groups: What group do the words belong
to?1.- toilet, bath, shower, towel.
BATHROOM 2.- night table, bed, wardrobe, lamp
BEDROOM3.- cooker, sink, fridge, microwaves
KITCHEN4.- sofa, television, pictures, table

Post- Activity 1 The teacher will write on the board the
structure “In my... there is/there are...”
Ss will have to write in their exercise books for example, In my bedroom there is/are and the item of furniture they recognised during the while-activity. They will have to do the same for all the parts of the house

Pre-Activity 2
Students have already seen vocabulary related to furniture/objects in the house.
Now, the teacher will display pictures of different types of houses to teach ss adjectives to describe a house and to give their own opinions about it.
Aids: ppt presentation. Time: 5 mins
While-Activity 2
Students will complete a paragraph about a description of their houses. (Taken from www.linguascope.com) Then, they will work in pairs, reading their paragraphs and checking their peer’s work (Vocabulary and Pronunciation)
Time: 20 mins
While-Activity 2
Complete the paragraph with your own information.

Post-Activity 2 The students will make a survey to their classmates
and will complete the following grid in their exercise books.
