A busy executive was going to surprise his wife with dinner at a classy new French restaurant. When he called to make a reservation, the waitress informed him that all of the tables were booked for that evening.

Seeing that pleading with the waitress was getting him nowhere, he felt that he had to say something fast before she hung up the phone. So he asked her, “If you pretend that I am your son asking for this one little favor, what would you do?”

The waitress promptly hung up the phone.
