Process:

I decided to make a Time Magazine cover, because it was the magazine I was most familiar with, whereas I have never heard of ‘The Economist’ before. Looking at many Time Magazine covers on Google, I noticed that most of the titles, subtitles, and backgrounds were red, white or black. I used the font _ because I thought it looked the most similar to the Time Magazine logo. I decided to put a picture of the earth in a toaster. I got this idea from one Time Magazine that had a fried egg on the cover. I was thinking of alternative ways to show global warming with food, so I thought about a bagel in a toaster, therefore I decided to make a picture of an Earth burning on the cover. First, I made the Earth in the toaster. I took images of a cartoon Earth and toaster, and using Photoshop I made it look like the Earth is inside the toaster. Then I filled the blank page red with a brush. Then I used the crop box to erase an exact box in the middle, to make a red border like the Time Magazine. I then added the title in red, and added ‘Special Edition’ just to make it seem realistic. Then I added the

text, the phrases on the cover to catch people’s eye. Then to the Earth, I added a gradient layer on top to make it look like it was burning up. On the top of the

magazine I added other articles of current issues.
