We love to go to the beach And play on the sand by the sea. We love to throw the beach ball And eat yummy sandwiches for the tea.

We love to splash in the waves And snorkel around stony rocks. We love to watch crabs in pools And get seaweed over our socks!

We love to make sandcastles, And dig holes and bury our dad. We so love to be by the sea, That leaving it makes us sad.

A Sunny afternoon

It was a sunny afternoon. Kate wanted to go to the beach but Grandma did not.

“It’s very hot in the sun,” said grandma.“You can sit under the beach umbrella,” said Kate.

“The sand is very rough,” said Grandma.“You can sit on a mat,” said Kate.

“Oh, all right!” said Grandma. “I’ll go!”

At the beach, there was a soft breeze. The sand was wet and cool. Grandma smiled. She kickedoff her shoes, ran over the sand and into the sea.

“Kate,” she called, “come and join me. It’s wonderful

here at the beach on a hot, sunny day!”
