Definition of AHP
Allied Health Profession means any
profession which has direct or indirecteffect on patient care or health of theindividual or population. (KKM, 2009).

AHP is grouped into 3 main groups

Radiographer
There are two types of radiographer, DiagnosticRadiographer and Therapeutic Radiographer (also known asRadiation Therapist).
Diagnostic radiographers work mainly within the radiologyand imaging departments of hospitals.
Diagnostic Radiographers operate X-ray and other imagingequipment (CT, MRI, Gamma camera, ultrasound) to produceradiographs (X-ray films) and other images which are used inthe diagnosis and subsequent management of disease orinjury.

Physiotherapist
Physiotherapists treat patients with physicaldifficulties resulting from illness, injury, disability orageing. They treat people of all ages includingchildren, the elderly, stroke patients and people
with sports injuries.
The core skills used by physiotherapists include
manual therapy, therapeutic exercise and theapplication of electro-physical modalities.

Occupational Therapist(OT) They work with individuals who suffer from a mentally,
physically, developmentally, or emotionally disablingcondition.
Occupational therapists help clients to perform all types of
activities, from using a computer to caring for daily needssuch as dressing, cooking, and eating.
Patients with permanent disabilities, such as spinal cordinjuries, cerebral palsy, or muscular dystrophy, often need
special instruction to master certain daily tasks. For theseindividuals, therapists demonstrate the use of adaptiveequipment, including wheelchairs, orthoses, eating aids,and dressing aids.
