Notes from the Head of School

Dear Parents,

Following up on an SMS message I sent out to all families earlier this week, I would like to reiterate my

invitation to all families who have not already done so to volunteer to host visiting student athletes for the

upcoming MRISA and APAC soccer events. The upcoming MRISA Boys and Girls Soccer

Tournament will be from 04-07 April, and the APAC Girls Soccer Tournament from 17-21 April.

UNIS Hanoi students from our MS/HS are hosted throughout the year all over East Asia in sports and non-

sports events. Over the course of the year, each school will host 4-5 events and we need as many people as possible to step

up and be host families here at UNIS Hanoi in order to fulfill our responsibility to the schools in these two organizations

who have hosted hundreds of our students this year already.

You don’t have to have a child in the event, and you don’t even have to have a child in the Middle School or High School to

be a host family so please do give it strong consideration. Our family has hosted for many years and found it to be a

worthwhile and rewarding experience as we got to know so many wonderful students from all over the world.

Please contact the Activities Office today and help us show all of the visiting schools what wonderful hosts we can be and

what a great school we have by offering to host during one if not both of these tournaments.

Respectfully,

Dr. Barder, Head of School

We wish all the best to

Yu Furudoi (3JC)

and Annabelle Brennan (1TS)

who left UNIS Hanoi this week.

Notes from the Middle High School Principal

Dear MSHS Families,

Greetings from the MSHS. I am happy to report that our MSHS Trip Week was a great success! Students

and teachers traveled far and wide exploring the wonders of Vietnam. Much time and resource is spent

organizing Trip Week (Thank you teachers!) but the benefits to our school community are immeasurable.

Students had the opportunity to climb mountains, hike through jungles, volunteer in schools, observe

endangered primates and spend time bonding with classmates.

Time continues to fly! It is have to believe that we are about to enter the fourth and final quarter of the school year. As

such, quarter three ends on April 5. Teachers will then begin the arduous task of calculating and submitting grades. Given

any unforeseen delays report cards should be available to parents on or about April 12 just in time for 3-Way Parent

Conferences. I will send an email to all parents once we have an exact date.

I would like to cordially invite all parents to participate in 3-Way Parent Conferences. Conferences will be held on April 16

and 22. Sign up for conferences will be through ISIS Family. An email will be sent out shortly providing details regarding

sign up dates and procedures. My hope is that all parents will take advantage of the opportunity to meet with teachers and

learn more about the educational options available for students attending UNIS.

I hope to see all parents at 3-Way Parent Conferences.

Happy Spring!

Pete Kennedy, MSHS Principal
