During his missionary endeavour St. Paul had to face lots of challenges. Some of them were from insiders while others were from outsiders. He says, “five times I received from the Jews the forty lashes minus one… I have been in danger from rivers, in danger from bandits, in danger from my own people… and in danger from false believers.” (2 Cor 11:25-26). These are the days, People shift their church and ministry loyalty due to very infinitesimal issues. Some stop their ministry involvement altogether while for others, a small back fire is a valid reason to leave the fellowship. If somebody had to give up and retreat, the first person should have been St. Paul. He literally went through different kinds of issues and persecutions. Jews tried to persecute him just because he left their religion. During his missionary journeys, in most of the places the situations were not favourable to him. His (false) brothers also opposed him just because he did not agree to incorporate many Jewish customs into the Church. Still without giving up he continued and encouraged his brothers and sisters not to be wearied amidst various challenges but to continue in the ministry. In our ministry also, many a times I have heard some people retreat from the ministry by saying “we are tired…. We have been in this ministry for the past these many years…” At the same time, I thankfully remember those graduates who are tirelessly involving in this humble ministry without any complaints and regrets for the past many decades. Yes.. those who did not give up, they still produce fruits- disciples, leaders and missionaries for His kingdom. We are involving in a ministry which has a clear mandate. Our ministry is based on a vision. We are not punching on the air like others do. There is no one else in this nation to carry out the vision and mandate of UESI- engaging the universities. So we have no option of giving up but to go forward with the torch which our forefathers have handed over to us. Now this is the crucial time for God’s people to come together by scraping all the differences and to work tirelessly and fight without considering the minor wounds. Three more modules are left for Bible study centre. The one- month long Staff Training will start on 24th October. Kindly continue to pray for the health of Bible study centre participants as many are falling into sick due to adverse climatic conditions. Yours in His service, Sissana & Rajesh George.
