Animal Entry and Registration DEADLINE: Animal Entries must be postmarked by July 7. Submit the paper form(s) with payment, payable to “UNION COUNTY WEST END FAIR”. Should any animal awarded a prize be disqualified, the animals gaining the lower prizes shall move into the next higher positions if, in the opinion of the judges, the animals are worthy of such prizes. 12.     13. Livestock Superintendent(s) will inspect pens daily. If pens are not maintained, there will be one (1) warning. A second offense will result in removal of the animal(s) from the fairgrounds.

    14. Exhibitors are responsible for cleaning their livestock area at the conclusion of the fair. If the area is not cleaned by the Tuesday evening following the fair, 10% will be deducted from premium check.

    15. All livestock exhibitors with the exception of rabbits will need to wear a show harness displaying their exhibitor number during the shows; two cards will be provided, one for the front and one for the back.

    Livestock Showmanship1. When on exhibition in the ring, each animal must be under halter in the charge of owner or representative.2. No person shall be allowed in the ring while stock is being judged except the judge, superintendents and

    necessary attendants.3. The Fair Association will have stand-by attendants available during youth judging and/or showing, to provide

    assistance if an animal becomes unmanageable.4. The State Farm Products Show Commission Code of Show Ring Ethics is as follows: Exhibitors of animals at

    the Farm Show shall at all times deport themselves with honesty and good sportsmanship. Their conduct in this competitive environment shall always reflect the highest standards of honor and dignity to promote the advancement of agricultural education.     Livestock Exhibitor Parking and Passes1. Passes and parking permits for livestock exhibitors will be issued at the Fair Office. Exhibitor registration slip

    must be presented for identification.2. Parking space for livestock exhibitors is available behind the barns and show arena (excluding trailers and large

    industrial vehicles).3. A reserved area near the south gate has been designated for livestock trailers and large industrial vehicles.4. Parking committee will enforce rules.

    Department 2 — Dairy CattleCONTACT: Eric Imgrund (570-522-0364)ENTRY FEE: $6.00 per animal, Union County Residents. $10.00 per animal, all others. Payment is due with entry form and must be postmarked no later than July 7. There will be absolutely no substitutions after the July 7 Entry Deadline, including arrival day at the fair.Open Class Entries are limited to Montour, Northumberland, Snyder and Union Counties.

    1. Refer to General Rules.2. Exhibitors will be expected to display or parade their animals as directed by the Superintendent; to accept the

    stall assigned without controversy; to keep their animals in an attractive appearance, and to cooperate with the Department in every way that may serve to increase the educational value of the show. No stalls will be promised until after entry deadline date. Stall space may not be decorated until all stall space is assigned.

    3. Exhibitors must note when livestock will be judged and be in the ring promptly and/or on call. Failure to comply with this rule may exclude exhibitor from competing.

    4. Decorations with ribbons or ornaments previously won by animals at shows shall be prohibited until after the awards have been made in their respective classes by the judge.

    5. 4-H and FFA members may enter the same animal in both open and youth competition.6. Exhibitor defined: Exhibitor will be the individual or partnership listed as current owner on the registry certificate

    at the time of entry.7. Original registration papers or dairy leasing program project forms showing ownership by June 1, plus Certificate

    of Veterinary Inspection (CVI) must accompany animals. These will be checked and approved before animals can be unloaded. No pending papers will be approved. For cows, the ownership dates will be by January 1 of the current year, and for calves and heifers the transfer dates will be by June 1 of the current year. Note: Holstein USA will use the date the transfer was received by the Holstein Association. No back dated transfers are allowed. All papers must be available until judging has been completed. There will be no exceptions to this rule.

    8. Dress Code: In an effort to maintain positive public image, acceptable dress will be either dark or white pants and white shirts or 4-H attire. Bib overalls or blue denims will not be allowed in the show ring. This will be enforced by the class organizer.

    9. Management: The management reserves the final and absolute right to interpret these rules and regulations and will determine all matters, questions, or differences in connection with the show.

    10. Rotation of show order will be at the discretion of the dairy superintendent and will be announced prior to the show date.

    1. Any animal of unthrifty nature, unsuitable condition, or which cannot be satisfactorily handled under show conditions must be removed from the fairgrounds.

    2. All sheep shall be washed, properly fitted and trimmed. Blankets are to be removed prior to judging and kept off animals until leaving the fair.

    3. Flock consists of one ram, any age; two ewes, one year and under two years; and two ewes under one year.4. Breeder’s young flock consists of one ram lamb and two ewe lambs, all bred and owned by exhibitor.5. A Get of Sire shall consist of four breeding animals, any age or sex, the Get of one Sire. Get need not be owned

    by the exhibitor.6. The show will be limited to registered purebred breeding sheep. Only breeds listed below may be entered.

    Registration must be furnished for all animals. 7. If an exhibitor is unable to tend his animals during the fair, superintendent shall be informed of the fact and of

    the person who will assume this responsibility in his absence.8. Fair reserves the right, in case of limited space, to limit the number of pens to any exhibitor.9. Only two animals per exhibitor may be entered in any one class.

    Department 6-1 — ADGA Sanctioned Dairy Goat ShowCONTACT: Betty Bronson (570-441-7727)ENTRY FEE: $2.00 per animal, Union County 4H and FFA ONLY. $4.00 per animal, all others. No entry fee for group classes. LATE ENTRY FEE: $8.00 per animal; late entries will only be accepted to make a breed official. Payment is due with entry form and must be postmarked no later than July 7.This is a one day event. No pens will be available, except 4H-FFA animals. All animals must be on the grounds and checked in no later than 9 AM.

    1. American Dairy Goat Association rules shall govern the conduct of the show. 2. Only American Dairy Goat Association, American Goat Society and Canadian Goat Society registered and

    recorded animals may be shown in official American Dairy Goat Association shows. 3. Original registration papers must accompany animals over 6 months of age. No pending papers or substitutions

    will be approved. Original registration certificate or duplicate application stamped by the ADGA office is required for all animals under 6 months of age.

    4. Lease form must be on file with the ADGA; a copy must accompany each leased animal. 5. The base date for computing age of animals shall be the date of the show. 6. Only Does entered in age classes may be shown in group classes.7. All animals must have an official legible breed registration tattoo.8. Junior and Senior shows are not separately sanctioned.9. Substitutions are allowed within the breed.10. Official health certificate issued by accredited veterinarian shall accompany all goats. All health certificates will

    be checked. 11. There is no limit in individual classes.12. Group classes are limited to 2 per exhibitor.13. No horned animals allowed.14. There will be no changes to the printed show order.

    Department 6-2 — Breeding Meat GoatsCONTACT: Tammy Rhyne (570-713-8722) PREMIUMS: $10, $9, $8, $7, $6ENTRY FEE: $2.00 per animal. Payment is due with entry form and must be postmarked no later than July 7. There will be absolutely no substitutions after the July 7 Entry Deadline, including arrival day at the fair.Open Class Entries are limited to Montour, Northumberland, Snyder and Union Counties.

    1. Animals must be owned, tagged and identified by May 15. A maximum of four animals may be tagged and a maximum of two animals shown. Scrapie tag will be required for all market goats regardless of sex.

    2. An animal may show in one class only. Meat Breeding Does cannot show in Market Goat Division and vice versa.3. All goats must bear an official USDN Aphis Scrapie program ear tag. Exceptions are only those goats that have a

    registration tattoo and have been coded with a premise ID number.4. All goats must have an official health certificate issued by an accredited veterinarian within 30 days prior to the

    opening date of the Fair.5. No more than 4 maximum animals per exhibitor and no more than 2 per class.

    1. The latest rules of the American Rabbit Breeders Association will govern the conduct of the show.2. Exhibitor must show his or her own rabbit.3. Each rabbit must be kept in its own cage until the rabbit is judged.4. After judging, rabbits will be assigned a cage inside the Rabbit Barn.5. It is suggested that all rabbits have permanent ear tattoos. This is for your own protection if a question of

    ownership arises.6. Rabbits must be in good health. Rabbits will be checked for eye and nasal drainage, ear mites and other signs

    of illness. Judge will eliminate stock found to be diseased while judging. Sick rabbits must be removed from the building as soon as possible.

    7. Judges will not award prizes to an unworthy entry. In the absence of competition, or where only one rabbit is entered, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, or no premium will be awarded according to the merit of the entry.

    8. Entries will be made in two (2) classes: Open; 4H and/or FFA. Entries limited to 10 per exhibitor.9. There will be Senior (6 months and over) and Junior (under 6 months) Classes in all breeds.10. 4H and FFA Livestock Sale participants may enter one meat pen in the sale. A meat pen consists of three rabbits

    of the same breed and variety, not over 10 weeks in age and not weighing under 3.5 lbs. or over 5.5 lbs. per the ARBA standard. Rabbits will be weighed by the judge.

    11. Fair will provide water, feed and feeding dishes for rabbits.12. Rabbits will be fed and watered by capable help during the week of the fair.13. Fair will not be responsible for the loss of any rabbits.14. NO BEDDING: no cardboard, no hay, and no straw. If a resting board is needed, an approved plastic or wooden

    board will be provided by the exhibitor.15. Rabbits may be removed after 11:00 PM Saturday. All rabbits must be removed by 12:00 PM Sunday. No rabbits

    (other than the meat pens bought at the livestock sale and rabbits expelled due to illness) will leave the rabbit building before 11 PM on Saturday or exhibitor will forfeit winnings. All buying and selling of rabbits will be done outside the rabbit building after 11 PM Saturday.

    Department 10 — 4H-FFA Theme: Farms, Families, Fairs, Fun

    Please refer to the General Rules and 4H-FFA General Rules in the Fair Book, the Code of Show Ring Ethics on the fair website, and the PA Dept of Agriculture Animal Health Rules and Regulations (link on the fair website) for additional animal health requirements.

    Premium Payments4H-FFA Members MUST help at the Tuesday cleanup after the fair to receive premium checks. Premium checks will be distributed after clean up.

    Showmanship Rules1. Exhibitor must enter the Showmanship Class when pre-registering exhibits.2. 4H or FFA members must be present and have charge of their animals at the time of judging.3. In the event of 2 or more animals owned by one exhibitor in the same class, the second animal must be shown

    by a 4H or FFA member.4. Dress code rules will be enforced and Hat Numbers are required.5. The exhibitor must show the animal in the open show.

    1. Exhibitors will be expected to display or parade their animals as directed by the Superintendent; to accept the stall assigned without controversy; to keep their animals in an attractive appearance, and to cooperate with the Department in every way that may serve to increase the educational value of the show. No stalls will be promised until after entry deadline date. Stall space may not be decorated until all stall space is assigned.

    2. Exhibitors must note when livestock will be judged and be in the ring promptly and/or on call. Failure to comply with this rule may exclude exhibitor from competing.

    3. Decorations with ribbons or ornaments previously won by animals at shows shall be prohibited until after the awards have been made in their respective classes by the judge.

    4. 4-H and FFA members may enter the same animal in both open and youth competition.5. Exhibitor defined: Exhibitor will be the individual or partnership listed as current owner on the registry certificate

    at the time of entry.6. Original registration papers or dairy leasing program project forms showing ownership by June 1, plus Certificate

    of Veterinary Inspection (CVI) must accompany animals. These will be checked and approved before animals can be unloaded. No pending papers will be approved. For cows, the ownership dates will be by January 1 of the current year, and for calves and heifers the transfer dates will be by June 1 of the current year. Note: Holstein USA will use the date the transfer was received by the Holstein Association. No back dated transfers are allowed. All papers must be available until judging has been completed. There will be no exceptions to this rule.

    7. Dress Code: In an effort to maintain positive public image, acceptable dress will be either dark or white pants and white shirts or 4-H attire. Bib overalls or blue denims will not be allowed in the show ring. This will be enforced by the class organizer.

    8. Management: The management reserves the final and absolute right to interpret these rules and regulations and will determine all matters, questions, or differences in connection with the show.

    9. Rotation of show order will be at the discretion of the dairy superintendent and will be announced prior to the show date.

Animals must be of 100% American dairy breed bloodline (purebred or any combination of Holstein, Jersey, Guernsey, Ayrshire, Milking Shorthorn, Brown Swiss, or Red & White Holstein, Lineback, Dutch Belted), dehorned (or naturally polled), and castrated. The dairy beef feeder show will be open only to breeds that are recognized by the PA Junior Dairy Show.

    2. Dairy beef steers shall be free of infectious and transmissible diseases. Shipping fever shots required. See General Rules for other animal health rules and regulations.

    3. Animals must be owned and identified by March 1. Maximum of two animals may be tagged, and one can be shown. They must be castrated by March 1.

    4. Due to weight variances and weight limits, the number of weight classes will be set at the fair.5. When on exhibition in the ring, each animal must be under halter and in the charge of the owner or owner’s

    representative, and must be manageable.6. The Champion and Reserve Champion Dairy Beef Feeder Steers, along with 1st and 2nd Place in each class

    making weight, will be sold at the 4H/FFA Livestock Sale on Friday. All other Dairy Beef Feeder Steers will not be sold. Owners of the animals not qualifying for the sale must take their animals home at the end of the fair or make other arrangements.

    1. The latest rules of the American Rabbit Breeders Association will govern the conduct of the show.2. Exhibitor must show his or her own rabbit.3. Each rabbit must be kept in its own cage until the rabbit is judged.4. After judging, rabbits will be assigned a cage inside the Rabbit Barn.5. It is suggested that all rabbits have permanent ear tattoos. This is for your own protection if a question of

    ownership arises.6. Rabbits must be in good health. Rabbits will be checked for eye and nasal drainage, ear mites and other signs

    of illness. Judge will eliminate stock found to be diseased while judging. Sick rabbits must be removed from the building as soon as possible.

    7. Judges will not award prizes to an unworthy entry. In the absence of competition, or where only one rabbit is entered, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, or no premium will be awarded according to the merit of the entry.

    8. Entries will be made in two (2) classes: Open, 4H and/or FFA. Entries limited to 10 per exhibitor.9. There will be Senior (6 months and over) and Junior (under 6 months) Classes in all breeds.10. 4H and FFA Livestock Sale participants may enter one meat pen in the sale. A meat pen consists of three rabbits

    of the same breed and variety, not over 10 weeks in age and not weighing under 3.5 lbs. or over 5.5 lbs. per ARBA standard. Rabbits will be weighed by the judge.

    11. Fair will provide water, feed and feeding dishes for rabbits.12. Rabbits will be fed and watered by capable help during the week of the fair.13. Fair will not be responsible for the loss of any rabbits.14. NO BEDDING: no cardboard, no hay, and no straw. If a resting board is needed, an approved plastic or wooden

    board will be provided by the exhibitor.15. Rabbits may be removed after 11:00 PM Saturday. All rabbits must be removed by 12:00 PM Sunday. No rabbits

    (other than the meat pens bought at the livestock sale and rabbits expelled due to illness) will leave the rabbit building before 11 PM on Saturday or exhibitor will forfeit winnings. All buying and selling of rabbits will be done outside the rabbit building after 11 PM Saturday.

    16. All Union County entries will be accepted over entries from other counties, regardless of postmark date.17. It is the exhibitor’s responsibility to properly name the breed entered. Any rabbit improperly entered will be

    disqualified and will not be judged. The judge will mark the correct name on the tag for the benefit of the exhibitor.

    Meat Pens for 4H-FFA1. Each exhibitor is limited to one rabbit meat pen. In preparation, up to ten rabbits may be tattooed. Entries will

    have a permanent tattoo in the left ear.2. A meat pen consists of three rabbits of the same breed and variety. They may be up to 10 weeks old (70 days

    maximum). Minimum weight 3.5 lbs. and maximum weight of 5.5 lbs. each.3. Youth exhibitors must own the doe(s) and kits must be kindled in the owner’s rabbitry.

    a. Owner must notify their county agent, 4-H club leader or FFA advisor of their intent to enter a meat pen before the doe is bred.

    b. Exhibitor must notify their county agent, 4-H club leader, or FFA advisor within three days of the doe’s kindling.c. Exhibitor must tattoo all rabbits to be grown for competition at 4 weeks of age in the presence of the county

    agent, 4-H Club leader or FFA advisor. Up to 10 rabbits may be tattooed. The agent or advisor must then sign the compliance statement listing the tattoo numbers.

    Section 11 ADGA Sanctioned Dairy Goat ShowCONTACT: Betty Bronson (570-441-7727)ENTRY FEE: $2.00 per animal, Union County 4H and FFA ONLY. $4.00 per animal, all others. No entry fee for group classes. LATE ENTRY FEE: $8.00 per animal; late entries will only be accepted to make a breed official. Payment is due with entry form and must be postmarked no later than July 7.This is a one day event. No pens will be available, except 4H-FFA animals. All animals must be on the grounds and checked in no later than 9 AM.

    1. American Dairy Goat Association rules shall govern the conduct of the show. 2. Only American Dairy Goat Association, American Goat Society and Canadian Goat Society registered and

    recorded animals may be shown in official American Dairy Goat Association shows. 3. Original registration papers must accompany animals over 6 months of age. No pending papers or substitutions

    will be approved. Original registration certificate or duplicate application stamped by the ADGA office is required for all animals under 6 months of age.

    4. Lease form must be on file with the ADGA; a copy must accompany each leased animal. 5. The base date for computing age of animals shall be the date of the show. 6.     Attorney Tom Boop, Lawton Insurance Agency and Golden Rule Custom Carpentry.The first place Senior Showman for each market area -- Dairy Beef, Market Lamb, Market Swine, Market Steer and Market Goats -- will show one of each animal. Grading will be on a point system with a special award. Supreme Showmanship Winners will not repeat in subsequent years.

    1. If the Senior Division winner declines or is ineligible to participate, the next high placing senior showman shall represent the species.

    2. If a contestant is eligible to participate in more than one species, the contestant must choose one species. Rule 1 would be in effect for the declined species.

    3. Supreme Showman winners from prior years are ineligible to participate.4. A class of five formats shall be used with contestants showing in a head to head competition for each species.5. The Committee Chairman shall be responsible for securing animals, as well as the proper show equipment.

    a. All animals used in the contest may not belong to any participant, his/her family members or raised with a participant’s animal.

    b. In the event that an animal must be used as described in 5(a), the participant will be provided another animal.c. Animals will be assigned by a random drawing.d. Consent from the owner shall be obtained before any livestock is used in the contest.e. Market animals will be used in the contest for each species.

    6. Attire is not assigned, except contestants must wear hard shoes. A neat appearance with a collared shirt is encouraged.

    1. All sale animals must be enrolled as a project and owned by an active Union County 4H or FFA member.2. All animals will be weighed at the time and place determined by the livestock sale committee.Weight of the

    scales will be considered the official weight for the show and sale. The first time weight will be considered official. Animals will not be weighed a second time.

    3. All animals must be fitted and be able to be shown by the exhibitor at the show and sale except in case of illness or accident.

    4. All animals must be fitted using only soap and water for the show and the sale. Animals must be clean when arriving on the fairgrounds. Animals not clean will not be allowed to stay on the fairgrounds.

    5. Dress Code - In an effort to maintain a positive public image, exhibitors must wear dark colored pants or jeans and a collared shirt with sleeves, tucked in the pants and no bare midriff. Leather shoes are recommended. Individuals not following the dress code may be removed from the ring and will not be allowed to sell their animals.

    6. A maximum of four livestock units may be sold at the sale. Champion animals must be sold.7. Exhibitors showing more than four livestock units must inform the Livestock Chair which units will be sold. If

    notification is not received by 9:30 pm Tuesday during fairweek, the units will be limited to 4 and filled in the following order: Rabbit Meat Pen, Market Steer, Heavyweight Market Swine, Heavyweight Lamb, Lightweight Market Swine, Lightweight Lamb, Dairy Beef, Market Goat.

    8. Exhibitors that do not want to sell a particular unit of livestock must inform the individual in charge of setting of the sale bill (Charles Kessler) by 9:30 pm Tuesday of the fair. Any and all outstanding entry and sale fees must be paid by this time. Owners of any livestock units listed after the sale bill is printed and not sold will be charged a fee of $25. This fee will be waived for animals that are sick or injured.

    9. A commission will be deducted from the owner’s sale check to cover all sale expenses and those required by the government.

    10. Four buyer contact forms must be submitted to the Union County Extension Office by July 15 or the next business day if July 15 is during the weekend.

    11. No livestock sale checks will be distributed until all livestock sales are finalized.12. It is the responsibility of all 4-H & FFA members to load their project animals for hauling following the sale. if the

    member cannot be present at loading time, he/she must secure a representative to load his/her project animals.13. An exhibitor meeting will be held on Monday of the fair at 3:00 pm in the Livestock Show ring. All exhibitors,

    youth, parent(s) and adults involved in the livestock show are required to attend.14. The sale order will be all champion animals in the following order: Rabbit Meat Pens, Market Steers, Dairy Beef,

    Market Swine, Market Lambs,Market Goat. Following the champions, the remaining animals will be sold in the same species order.

    15. Animals not within the listed weight range will not be sold at the sale. if there is a buyback price for animals outside the sale weight range, the owner may accept the buyback price within one hour of the end of the sale.

    16. Any livestock owner not taking proper care of their animals on the grounds will not be allowed to sell their animal. The owner will be charged for caring of the animal or its removal from the fairgrounds.

    17. Any special rules adopted by the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture will supersede the above rules.18. The fair has the right to change/remove numbers from an eartag, when there are duplicate numbers shown.19. Exhibitors that are not present at time of sale order with animals will be skipped and animals will not be sold

    in the livestock sale. Exhibitors will then pay the $25.00 fee for livestock units listed after the sale bill has been printed. This rule will be waived if the exhibitor has made prior arrangements with the superintendent for exceptions that may include: 4-H/FFA activities, college orientation or activities, illness or accidents, or unexpected animal problems where exhibitors may need to assist in the sale ring.

    General Exhibit EntryGeneral Exhibit Pre-RegistrationJULY 15 – General Exhibits (excluding Livestock) must be pre-registered and postmarked by July 15. There is a limit of one (1) entry per exhibit class. The Exhibit Registration and Entry Form is in the center of the Fair Book and on the fair website.Exhibit Submissions - Main Exhibit BuildingSUNDAY, 1-4 PM – Exhibits entry. No Baked Goods.MONDAY, 10 AM-4 PM – Exhibit entry, including Baked Goods. MONDAY, 4 PM – The Main Exhibit Building will be closed to all exhibitors and the public. Only fair officers, department superintendents and their assistants, judges and state officials with proper identity will be allowed to enter the building.Exhibit Removal - Main Exhibit BuildingSUNDAY, 1:00-3:00 PM – Exhibit Removal.The Fair Association assumes no responsibility for exhibits not removed from fairgrounds.

    General Rules1. The Fair Association reserves the right to amend or add to these rules and regulations at any time. 2. FAIRGROUND CURFEW — All gates except the main gate will be closed between 12:30 and 5:00 AM daily.

    A security guard will be posted allowing traffic out only, except designated Fair officials.3. NSF (Not Sufficient Funds) Checks presented to the Fair Association will be assessed a $50 Fee.

    Exhibitor Rules1. All exhibitors agree to be bound by the rules and regulations of the Union County West End Fair

    Association.2. All entries will be made according to the classifications listed in the premium book and on the fair website.3. All entries must be grown, produced, or made since the last fair.4. All entries must be made in the name of the grower, maker or bona fide owner.5. Exhibitor may be required to prove ability to reproduce entry in the presence of a qualified person.6. All exhibits accepted for premiums require a properly marked entry tag.7. Exhibitors are responsible to properly name the exhibits he/she is entering.8. Exhibitors are required to give personal attention to their property during the fair.9. Exhibitors are responsible for the removal of their exhibits at the close of the fair.

    Exhibit Disqualifications1. Any item improperly entered will be disqualified and will not be judged. The judge shall mark the correct

    name on the tag for the benefit of the exhibitor.2. If Department Superintendent believes an entry or exhibit was shown in previous years, the item may be

    refused.3. Superintendents reserve the right to refuse any entry and may bar from competition animals, vegetables,

    flowers, and manufactured articles of inferior quality and those not possessing sufficient merit to warrant recognition.

    4. The Fair Association may, at any time, order the removal of an exhibit or part of exhibit in bad condition and/or unfit to show.

    5. Food products may not be chemically altered in such a way that food becomes poisonous or unfit for human consumption.

    6. The Fair Association reserves the right to determine how many entries they will accept from one exhibitor and/or family if facilities are not available to handle total entries, rather than closing any department when space has been filled.

    7. No exhibitor will be allowed to duplicate entries of a single variety of any kind of grain, vegetable, annual or perennial specimen flowers or plants or any other classes listed, excluding some classes of livestock.

    8. No imported, manufactured or commercial products may be exhibited.9. Exhibitors removing entries before 1:00 PM Sunday will forfeit all premiums.10. No live animal exhibits are permitted in the Exhibit Building.11. Failure to comply with Fair Association rules will result in premium forfeiture.

    Judging1. The decision of the judges shall be final except when mistakes, fraud, misrepresentation or collusion, not

    discovered at the time of award, is proven. In such cases, the Dept Superintendent, and/or Officers/Fair Board, or such referee as may appointed, shall determine validity of claim.

    2. All judging protests must be in writing and plainly state the cause of the complaint or appeal.3. Such protests must be filed at the Fair office within 48 hours of the occurrence.4. When there is no competition, judges may give an award as they deem the exhibit is worthy.5. In cases where there are fewer entries in any class than the number of premiums offered, judges may

    give an award such as they deem the exhibit is worthy.

    Premium Payments1. Premium Checks will be distributed as follows:

    - 4H-FFA Members MUST help at the Tuesday cleanup after the fair to receive premium checks. - All other exhibitors’ premium checks will be distributed at pickup in the Exhibit Building.

    2. Checks must be cashed within 30 days of check date. No checks will be reissued.3. Premiums may be given for meritorious exhibits.4. In the event that receipts of the Fair are insufficient to meet all expenses and to pay premiums in full,

    the Fair Association reserves the right to prorate the funds available for premiums among the respective winners.

    5. Payments made on a pro-rata share, though less than the amount published, shall constitute a full and complete discharge to any premium obligation.

    Loss or Damage To Exhibits1. All articles on exhibition must be respected as private property.2. Reasonable care will be taken to protect all exhibits on display from injury and damage.3. Person(s) caught stealing exhibits or abusing/injuring livestock will be dealt with according to the law.4. At the exhibitor’s request, stolen or destroyed ribbons may be duplicated free of charge at the close of the

    fair, if supplies are available.5. The Fair Association is not, in any way, to be held responsible for accidents, loss or damage by water, fire,

    theft, or otherwise, whatever the cause or extent of the damage or loss.

    Law and Order1. No disorderly conduct of any kind will be permitted on the fairgrounds.2. Concessioners are liable and will be held to strict account for any violations of the law and have no claims

    on the Fair Association for refund of fees paid.3. Use of alcoholic beverages of any kind is forbidden and any concessioners, exhibitors, contestants or fair

    patrons consuming same publicly will be removed from fairgrounds.4. Smoking is prohibited in all fair buildings, including livestock barns and the show arena.5. Riding of bicycles, motorcycles, motor scooters, etc. is not permitted.6. For the safety and comfort of all visitors, animals—other than those being exhibited—are not permitted on

    the fairgrounds, with the exception of service dogs.7. No unauthorized solicitors permitted on fairgrounds.8. Autos and trucks are permitted on midway to load and unload only. No vehicles are permitted on the

    midway after 4 PM, Monday through Friday and all day Saturday.9. Any fair officer, director or superintendent has the right to evict anyone who violates fair rules.

    Liability – Personal Property DamageAll persons who enter the fairground and use the facilities of said grounds for the purpose of exhibiting, displaying, demonstrating, seeing the exhibits, competing in any contests, being entertained by the attractions, or in any other manner participating in the fair, do so at their own risk. The Fair Association will not be liable for any accident, personal injury or property damage suffered by such persons irrespective of how such injury or damage occurs.

    The Fair Association will not intentionally show or permit to be shown any dangerous attraction on the fairgrounds. However, the showing of certain attractions require that spectators be reasonably careful in their conduct and be reasonably watchful of the conduct of children. Although the Fair Association will take every precaution, it will not be responsible for any personal injury or property damage suffered by reason of any attraction shown or exhibited during the fair.

    The Fair Association assumes no responsibility in case of loss or damage to stock or other exhibits from any cause, and upon this conduct their business or exhibits that the public shall not be liable for injury. In case anyone is injured the privilege, renter or exhibitors shall assume all responsibility, therefore, and shall hold blameless and indemnify the Fair Association against any legal proceedings and any and all incurred expenses.

    The Fair Association and its officers or agents will not be responsible for any accident, loss, theft or damage on any Fair parking lot.
